We were lucky to catch up with Lea Hope Bonzer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Lea Hope thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea?
I have been passionate about photography for over twenty years. Photography leads me to create art, not just a snap I see with my eye. I love creating a piece that will inspire and motivate occupants in residential, commercial, and hospitality surroundings.
Through networking, I came across Lorain DuCharme, she become a great friend as well as a business partner.
One day Lorian set a business meeting with me to tell me about her long-holding idea she has. As Lorian learned about the mission of my art she wanted to share her idea about recreating ceiling tiles at unpleasant doctor visits.
So we joined forces and created a business plan that will enchant the experience of the patients. The creation of the Arte Unico.
Lea hope, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I was born ar raised in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. In my mid-twenties life took me on a journey and I found life in the USA. As mentioned, I had been into photography before then and continued creating art through photography. Starting to share my art, then just a hobby with others I learned that I see the world around me differently, which set me on the mission to become an artist.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Becoming an artist-photographer awakened the idea of owning my art gallery. So I worked hard to get there one day. Becoming a mom and capturing all special moments, lead me to start a portrait photography business as well as weddings and events. Being a stay-home mom with a photography side business took away a lot of time, which I am grateful for as I also continued creating art. With Covid slowing down life at some point and portrait photography stopping I had the opportunity to invest my time in gathering all my art and once again start working on my way to establish myself as an artist with my mission of recreating the atmosphere of surrounding and creating it motivational.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
The capital to start my business I created through long hours of working different types of jobs including a lot of sacrificing to save as much as possible. Even these days, with my portrait photography in bloom I invest back in my art side of the business, of course with some help with personal loans. It’s a balance between needs and wants with very few treating myself in between. Now I run my portrait photography, two branches of art and I also have a dangling earring line.
