We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lay Simone a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lay , thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I have worked on is my Thermal Body Zodiac Collection. This series changed my life because it allowed me to connect with women in a very real and emotional way. I created each piece to celebrate the body in all forms and to remind women that their shape, size, and natural features are powerful. The message behind the collection is simple but needed. Love yourself as you are and do not confine your beauty to society’s opinions.
What made it even more meaningful is how far it reached. I sold pieces across the country and even overseas, which still shocks me in the best way. I received messages from women telling me that my art helped them see themselves differently, feel confident again, or embrace parts of their body they used to hide. Knowing that something I created in my own healing journey could play a part in someone else’s healing is why this collection will always be special to me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Lay Simone and I am the artist and founder behind LAYMADEIT. My work began as a way to express everything I felt but never had the words for. I got into art through my own healing journey. Creating became my way to understand myself, my emotions, my identity, and the world around me. Over time it grew into a real purpose. I realized that my work was not only helping me but helping others feel seen, heard, and understood.
I create sketch based pieces, digital art, and expressive collections that focus on the body, emotion, and personal power. I am most known for my Thermal Body pieces, Zodiac portraits, and my Vision series. My art speaks to women especially. I aim to give them a sense of confidence and self acceptance through the way I highlight real bodies, real feelings, and real stories. Everything I make is meant to remind people that they are enough as they are.
With LAYMADEIT I provide original art, digital designs, prints, creative storytelling, and visual concepts. My work has reached clients across the country and overseas. I often receive messages from women who tell me that my art helped them shift how they see themselves. That is the problem I solve. I give people a mirror that reflects back strength instead of insecurity. I create safe expression. I create representation. I create art that lets people feel understood without saying a word.
What sets me apart is the intention behind everything I make. My brand is built on emotion, connection, and truth. I share my process, my thoughts, and my story so my supporters feel close to the work. I want people to know that LAYMADEIT is not just a brand. It is a movement about self love, identity, and freedom within art.
I am most proud of the impact my work has had on women. That is what I want people to understand about me and my brand. I create from a genuine place. I create with purpose. And I create with the belief that art can change how someone feels about themselves, even if only for a moment. That is the heart of LAYMADEIT and the reason I continue to grow as an artist every day.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes. My mission as an artist is to create work that helps people see themselves with more love, patience, and confidence. My creative journey is centered around emotional honesty and representation. I want my art to remind people that they are allowed to take up space, feel deeply, and exist in their natural form without apology.
A big part of my mission is to speak to women who have struggled with body image, self acceptance, or feeling unseen. Through my Thermal Body pieces and my other collections, I focus on showing real bodies and real emotion in a way that feels comforting and empowering. I want my work to encourage women to embrace themselves as they are and not limit their worth based on outside opinions.
My goal with LAYMADEIT is bigger than creating art. I want to build a space where people feel understood. I want my work to travel, reach new places, and continue touching lives across the world. Every message I receive from someone telling me that my art helped them feel beautiful again or helped them see their body differently lets me know I am living my purpose.
My creative journey is guided by connection, healing, and truth. That is the heart of my mission.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being an artist for me is the freedom it gives me to express truth. Art allows me to take feelings, experiences, and moments from my life and turn them into something that speaks to people without needing long explanations. I love being able to create work that carries emotion and intention in a way that people can instantly feel.
What means the most is watching someone connect to a piece for their own reasons. They see something in it that reflects their story, not just mine. That moment where a person lights up, pauses, or says a piece made them think or feel something deeper is what reminds me why I do this.
Being a creative lets me build a world that others can step into. It gives me room to grow, experiment, and constantly evolve. The reward is in the impact, the connection, and the fact that my art continues to reach new places and new people. It feels powerful to know that what I create has a life of its own once it leaves my hands.
