We were lucky to catch up with Lawrence Holloway recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lawrence , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

I’ve always loved music, fashion, style and the culture overall my entire life and growing up listening to the greats, I honed in on my ability to write and make a melody. I added aspects of story-telling and refined my beat selection as my mastery of the craft evolved. With each verse I pen and each stage I grace, my passion for music continues to grow stronger. This dream of pursuing a career as a professional artist has become clear, driving me to push boundaries, defy stereotypes, and carve out my own unique path in the music industry; It was the catalyst that set me on a path towards embracing my identity as a rapper, storyteller, and advocate for change through music.

As an artist, I offer more than just music – I provide works of art, a glimpse into the struggles, triumphs, and dreams that shape my world. My rhymes are a reflection of the streets that raised me, the people who inspire me, and the dreams that drive me forward. My tracks are like paintings, as I draw influence from Basquiat in his methods and the need to solve problems through art.
One of the main problems I aim to solve for my listeners is the need for authenticity in a world that’s often filled with facades. My music is a mirror that reflects the raw, unfiltered truth of life – the pain, the joy, the love, the struggle.

I aim to connect with my audience on a deep level, sparking conversations, and inspiring change; My music is also perfect to ride, roll, and relax to. What sets me apart from other rappers is my commitment to authenticity. I don’t sugarcoat the truth or shy away from the hard-hitting topics. I speak my mind, share my story, and invite others to do the same. My authenticity is my strength and what draws fans to my music time and time again. I’m most proud of the impact my music has had on my listeners – the way my words have resonated with those who feel unseen, unheard, or misunderstood. I’ve seen my music bring people together, spark conversations, and inspire others to chase their dreams.
