Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lavala Moss aka Lala Diore . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lavala, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I feel that im chosen , called out for a purpose to make a difference in this world. My mission is to break barriers not only for myself but for others as well. My passion strives from my story which is my testimony.. All the odds were against me, from birth I faced obstacles-My mother is was still a addict when giving birth to me-I never knew my father or had a father. I grew up in shot gun houses and low poverty houses until we moved to Loveman village projects were I was raised my whole life until I was 19. Growing up in a environment like the projects you are exposed to alot of things… I knew at a young age I wanted to be a star or someone prominent in my lifetime I would imagine and visualize myself on stage performing wether dancing singing rapping or acting. I had dreams of just making it out and being something and making something of my life. I made it my mission to push myself hard to go full out for everything I desired every audition, every stage play, every talent show , every dance show case it didn’t matter I saw more than a girl from the projects with a very rough start. I saw purpose , I saw change, I saw my story being the first of many. I knew than I was gone create new waves or break through the old ones . My mission is to be the first to do it the way I do it Looking the way I loo
Being from where im from coming from my background. My mission is giving hope and being the blueprint that anything is possible and God can do the impossible.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started my journey as earlier as 3 years old I started in church where I was introduced to praise dancing. That was just the beginning as I grew I started to find interest in all performing arts. Everytime I would indulge in anything in the arts it would come so natural to me , no practice or anything. Thats when I knew I had gifts/talents. I expanded in all fields in which I participated in- That passion just grew to where I would show up to every audition. Any show I would do I would leave a mark as I kept going and expanding and exploring I grew fans or admirers that would express how awesome I was.. before I knew it I landed myself in the industry’/field of entertainment. With modeling it took me from Atlanta fashion week To new york fashion week to Los Angeles fashion week, shooting with high fashion magazine editorial photographers to landing brand ambassadors deals and being a face model for mua and so much more. My dancing landing me in top training dance academy Lead and founded by Anthony Burrell. Also landed me my big break performing with Janet Jackson at the 2019 billboard awards. Later to lead me in rooms with Beyonce, Tyler perry, Samuel L Jackson , and so many more greats just to name a few. My music has lead me in rooms with great producers as well as music showcases. What I want more than anything is to inspire people to chase their dreams no matter what
What im
Most proud of is accomplishing things I never even knew I would pushing against all odds. I serve my people love and positivity when My people see me I give them hope
I hug them , I pour into them, I show then living proof that dreams can come true.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think what’ helped build my reputation in my market was my showing up giving it all you got mindset, I once told myself no matter the show or production or process if I just show up and treat the smallest show like the biggest show and show no difference but have the heart and mindset that im Just grateful to have another opportunity to perform that would humble me as well as make me very appreciative of every opportunity. As well when you show up and give your all you gain followers and fans from each arena big and small- wether its a low budget show or a high class event each person from every show is speaking on you, word of mouth is everything and thats how I expanded and build my reputation
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Yes , I always told I was not the runway model standard Im 4’11 curvy and I have bold features. No matter the height requirements I would still show up to the model calls … No matter the standard beauty I would still showcase my beauty with bold , bright , beautiful photoshoots. Everytime I was told I didn’t fit in I
Would endure that as a push to make sure I stood out.
