We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lauxx Vixen. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lauxx below.
Lauxx, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I first realized I wanted to pursue music when I was in middle school. I have always been involved in music such as the school choir or praise and worship at church. What made it a real dream for me was when it was time for the school talent show and there was a girl that sang “Blue” by Beyoncé and another girl sung an Adele song and another did a Rihanna song. I noticed that all of them were seniors, so I wanted to be different. I wasn’t able to rap at the talent show so I did a routine with the dance team. I regretted not rapping so that really fueled my career.
Lauxx, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
“Lauxx Vixen” is an up and coming artist from San Antonio Texas. I perform at local bars and clubs, such as epic bar, veride lux and happy Place bar. My business partner Karla Hallz and I, started a party promotion group called “The Biggest Entertainment”. We throw shows around San Antonio, with more locations to come. I got into this position by socializing with other local talent and DJs and other party promoters. I started performing in 2021, and ever since then, I’ve just kept going and going.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I actually had to build up my social media audience by changing my page. I had no music, no videos, no party, promotional flyers or anything with me on my Instagram page so I had to say how can I make myself marketable? How can I grab someone’s attention when they look at my page so then I made a link tree, and I linked all of my music outlets together. I started posting my music, even if it’s a small snippet. I started posting more flyers, and art. Consistency is key. I also had to learn the algorithm when it comes to social media. Once I figured it out when to post and what hashtags to use I started to see my followers grow. The main advice I would give someone that is just starting to build their social media presence is to just be yourself and to be consistent and also find your target audience.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I feel that the best thing to do is to simply share. Share your music, art, post and send someone their social media page. When you are on their page like and comment and share because when you do that, it takes that one person to see you and you can change that person’s life. Also if you see that they’re having a show or a performance or even a pop-up shop go support show love.
