Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lauryn Hendrix . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Lauryn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I’ve always loved art, fashion, design, music ever since I was a little girl. I think the biggest things that inspired me to become a model and concept director would have to be first my family they’ve worked hard their whole lives I’ve seen them struggle and succeed which has taught me so much and I have learned some of my great attributes and qualities from them. Another inspiration would definitely have to be the things i’ve faced and experienced in my life. Whether it’s pain or happiness I use my feelings and emotions and life lessons and experiences to create my work and to push me to reach my goals and help others reach those same goals. I realized my passion for art ever since I was young growing up I knew I wasn’t gonna be that girl who sits in an office and types on a computer all day I wanted to do more and create art and be art. I have a really active mind i’m always thinking of new ideas and creating ideas in my head which inspire me to continue creating. I model and also create photoshoot and video documentary projects relating to todays issues and societal problems we see in the world today.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m an 21 Year old Model, Social Media Influencer, And Concept Director. I got into my industry by first reaching out to skilled knowledgeable people who have participated in the same career fields I was interested in. I also studied others in the same fields as me and take note on what they did or do to help their career succeed. I always try to learn from everyone in my life whether their in my life for a long time or a short time I learn from them I believe every person in your life is there for a reason and they can teach you a lesson big or small. Some problems I wanna solve is just changing peoples opinions on certain topics and just bringing more people together or different backgrounds and inspiring others is the main goal. When it comes to modeling I’m most proud of how much progress I’ve made in the industry. Being a 5’3 African American model it’s hard in the modeling industry but I’ve already accomplished so much. I’ve even been in NYFW in 2022 which was a big blessing.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
My biggest advice would be to not compare yourself and your abilities to anyone or anything! Everyone develops and grows at their own pace. If someone else seems to have everything figured out and knows what they’re doing don’t ever let that make you lose sight of where you’re going and what you’re accomplishing! Don’t doubt yourself and think you won’t make it because you will and you can! And also don’t think you have everything figured out on your own always be willing to accept advice and criticism and most importantly always be open to learning new things it’ll help you and your artistic journey so so much.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I keep in contact with clients, models, Artist, and other creatives through social media and network sites. I have 11.4 followers on instagram and I am able to keep in contact and update my supporters through that’s. Social media is how I create my work and share my work with the world!
