We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Laursz Official a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Laursz thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Having no job for a while to Successfully building my own property management company whilst becoming a new parent, achieving lots of clients and reaching new financial heights.
I dedicated lots of time to it and achieved a lot from it. Had I never had this idea, I wouldn’t have been able to reach these levels and fund the life I wanted. It was a great idea that just came into my head following leaving a previous job role.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I Always have been a good song writer. From very young, maybe age 6, it was a hobby and known fact that I would write songs with my friends and keep lots of notepads full of lyrics.
I would write lyrics for other people in school but never took music seriously. I could be found walking around school, singing to myself and people would always say “aww that sounds so good” and I would get embarrassed.
In 2015, after losing my grandad, I chose to pursue a music career as this was something he always wanted me to do.
I’ve Been through a lot in life and music has been such an outlet for me to share my experiences and create something nice out of negative situations. It’s therapeutic and I have a crazy ability to write good songs in 20 minutes.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Lost a lot of things in my life that I cared about such as – my grandad and my friend Kamz passing away etc. but having to continue on, has taken great strength and strength I didn’t even knew existed within me.
Also going through my breakup with the person who I grew up with, and started my musical journey with, was very tough on me. Lost my musical passion, felt lost for a while, but I’ve managed to rebuild myself and have done great at getting back to it.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
When you create a song that people really like and engage with. I think it’s the biggest compliment when people know the lyrics and really enjoy the song of which you’ve created. It’s a beautiful feeling seeing how this song has related to others and made them feel a certain way. I love to see people enjoying my songs
