Alright, Laurie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?

We hope to create a ripple effect in the world for an evolution that transforms the way we connect with our creativity, our voice, our intuition, to nature, to ourselves, and to others. Our intention through our sessions is to guide people to trust their creative impulse and intuition on a daily basis. As we all learn to embrace the seasons and cycles within, we move more easily through transitions big and small. As each person moves and releases energy to create more alignment in their life… we hope that it will open a greater space for the world to live more harmoniously.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Hello From The Cocoon planted its first seeds in 2020 when the world was shutting down due to the pandemic. In 2021 we decided to team up and use our creative gifts as a way to guide others within their home cocoons. We provide guided sessions, pre-recorded video lessons, nature inspired art and products, and cozy videos for creative inspiration on our website.

A little about the Cocoon…

If you’re looking for a place to find home within yourself, take off your shoes, get cozy and stay awhile. We’re here holding space for you, as you build your cocoon. We all need a little guidance sometimes. Especially in those moments when we’re feeling drained, depleted, lost, or uninspired. Rather than taking a vacation from our struggles, what if all you need is right there inside you?

The cocoon is a sacred space for transformation. We embrace the seasons and cycles, the ebbs and flows, and evolve to feel whole with life’s journey. We love to create content related to the seasons, nature-inspired activities, and free creativity guides for you to explore what seasonal living means to you and who you become each season.

Laurie is your Intuitive Art Cocooning Guide… “Life is full of transitions. In my 20’s, I sustained a spinal cord injury that initiated me to the power of introspection and creativity. Weaving my personal development training, education as an Art Major, and a certification as a Soul Art Guide, I offer Intuitive Art as a way to journey through transitions in life.”

What is vocal play?
Vocal play is creating sounds with your voice to connect with yourself and the world around you. You are going back to your roots, before you learned words. Let’s reignite the skills of feeling and exploring to enhance your life.

Sarah is your Vocal Play Cocooning Guide… “Life continues to take me through many different journeys… Teaching me to look within, find my inner voice, and grow my intuition. As a speech therapist my purpose and passion in life is to communicate with care while helping others. After losing my own voice to a voice disorder, and rediscovering it in my own cocoon, I now bring Vocal Play to guide you to tune into your next best self.”

We have also grown the Cocoon Community through collaborations with other entrepreneurs who are also seasonal creators and nature guides. Through events, workshops, a podcast, customized video journeys for a small business, and frequent Instagram Live chats, we continue to expand and spread our wings.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

We believe in organically growing on social media. We primarily use Instagram and have found that genuine connections and especially collaborations are the best way to create followers who are also kindred spirits and supporters of your brand, your content, and your overall intention as a business.

Rather than posting multiple times a day, we focus on present moment connections and creating a community through interactions with other creators. We also utilize the stories and IGlive features to engage and ask questions so that we start a conversation. For example, we are primarily creative expression guides so we introduce our followers to tune into how they feel using nature. They then share these Nature-Inspired Feelings with us and we turn them into posts or stories so we can weave them all together.

Through multiple forms of connection and collaboration, we built a momentum of new “Cocooners” and our followers continued to grow exponentially within the last year. We continue to interact deliberately from our heart, being fully present, and bringing love to each connection.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?

We invite you to accept, acknowledge, and explore…that the gifts you came into this world with ARE your creativity. You can rediscover them, deepen them, and bring them to a new level in your life.

In our work as Intuitive Art and Vocal Play Guides, there is no previous art or singing experience needed. Come as you are as a playful spirit, ready to spark and ignite what is already within you.
