Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lauren Taylar. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lauren, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
I pride myself on combining the design and tech of websites. I infuse my professional background in SEO in my website design projects and make sure that each website is optimized correctly. I see many designers who serve online business owners similarly to me but disregard SEO as part of their process. I believe that SEO is a non-negotiable for website design since it directly impacts the user experience, not just the ability to rank a website on Google.
Lauren, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a brand designer, website designer and SEO strategist for coaches and service-based businesses who want to feel confident in their visual identity, attract more clients, and expand their organic reach in Google. As a former SEO strategist with one of the leading online reputation management firms in the country, I combine my technical background with my passion for design to create visual brand identities, build custom websites and create tailored long-term visibility strategies. Beyond 1:1 services, I also offer an SEO course and website templates for business owners who would prefer to DIY their online marketing.
I’m most proud of ranking my website in the #1 position for “Squarespace SEO expert.” I practice what I preach when it comes to SEO, and creating dozens of blog posts for any niche takes a lot of time, energy, and research. I’ve been able to rank my website for more than 300 keywords on page 1 of Google and love using myself as a case study of what’s possible for my clients who aren’t sure if blogging is worth their time.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is getting to use my gifts to help other women shine. My clients are ambitious and genuine women who are doing the work every day that lights their soul on fire. When it comes to their website and branding, it’s not an enjoyable part of their business or something that they excel in. It is such a privilege to support them and bring their vision to life so people going to their website can witness the energy and essence of their brand.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients has been Google. Since people who are using Google are typically searching for solutions to their problems, people come to me ready to invest. I don’t need to spend hours or weeks in the DMs on Instagram with a potential client. It saves me a lot of time and I continue to be visible to potential clients every day from the work I put into evergreen blog content that ranks on page 1.
