We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lauren Roseberry. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lauren below.
Lauren, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I have always been interested in creating in anyway, I love art and being a creative. I love space and nature and my nickname for myself is lulu so that’s how I got the artist name spacedoutlulu . I wake up everyday excited and eager to create .
Lauren, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into making my own art in 2018, and I create acrylic paintings, prints, coloring books, enamel pins , stickers, keychains , clothing and more! I try to be as eco friendly as I can with my packaging, and way of life, especially with my art. I do commissions with digital dog portraits, art and paintings. I create only original style art from my life values , expierences and thoughts I think of. I have a unique perspective of life and love to show that within my art
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
I worked in retail and used that income to start my business and since then I always have my art affordable and put income from my art back into my business and create things like coloring books, pins, canvases, paint and more to create more .
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Making my own website and instagram have been really helpful with getting my work out there more. Getting into vending my art around the twin cities , live painting , and word of mouth really helps grow my business
