We were lucky to catch up with Lauren Rodriguez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lauren, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
I have always had a love for food. I feel it is a mutual love across all cultures, races, religions, genders and something that can bring us all together. I love trying new foods and drinks, and especially love new restaurants with different themes and ambiance’s !
Lauren, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have always loved food, and photography. I started blogging as a way to track all of the awesome places I’ve been to and experienced to share awesome new places with my friends and family. However the more I began blogging the more I enjoyed it and the new interactions and acquaintances I gained from it. I feel good is a common ground for all walks of life and I love getting to know restaurant owners and seeing and understanding their visions and family history that went into the development of their restaurants and menus.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I love showcasing smaller or less known restaurants and I love getting recommendations from individuals as well so I can experience new places, vibes and different themed or cultural experience restaurants.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I really love when I go into a restaurant and tell the server what I do and being able to speak to restaurant owners about all that went into the building of their restaurant and menu. I think that often times restaurant owners don’t get asked about the whys, and understanding the culture and family stories that went into the creativity makes you have a new found appreciation for the food and drinks you are having while dining.
