We recently connected with Lauren Rodgers and have shared our conversation below.
Lauren , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
I’ve recently expanded my jewelry into sentimental pieces that my customers will cherish forever. This includes making jewelry with their loved ones ashes or hair.
I had a customer reach out to me for a pendant and she wanted to include her grandpas ashes. She’s a fan of matchstick charms I make. We came up with the idea of placing his ashes under a piece of tourmaline I set on a matchstick. I think it’s very important to include my customers in the design process so they feel like they are apart of the piece as well. And it creates a unique piece to them.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I create handmade jewelry with unique designs that make my customers happy. I’m known for making troll pendants with crystal hair. You’ll find a lot of little stars sprinkled on my work.
I fell into making jewelry while being unemployed and never wanted to look back.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I was really lucky and started my business at the beginning of Instagram and grew with it. I believe it’s really important to stay on top of posting and making sure to post what’s trending to be seen. Including your face!
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Yes! I think this is so important but especially for a small business like mine that’s only ran by me. I never want my customers to feel as if they are just another sale. I refer to my customers as my babes so it feels more personal. They keep me going and mean more to me than being just a customer.
