Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?

I feel like the best thing I do for my customers is show love in general and give more than what they ask for. I want my customers to understand that yes what I do is for money but it’s more so a passion so I’ll always show up and show out.

Hello, My name is Lauren and my business is Chef L’s Cravings. I specialize in custom cakes and treats for all events as well as selling dinners and small catering. It will be 6 years in September since I started my business . I reside in Warren,MI from my home. Although all the love comes from my home, I have bigger plans for my business as it continues to grow.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

How I built my audience on social media is constantly staying consistent. I’ve learned you can’t really see growth without doing your part first and then the word of mouth comes about. After I gained a good amount of audience that don’t mean stop . I keep building to the point my supporters also help put the word out . With the help of others, I always find ways to give back whether it’s a sale, giving more than paid for or even little freebies here and there .

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I think what helped me is doing tutorials. I’ve always found joy in showing people how I do my work as well as showing others who may want to start a baking/chef business.
