We were lucky to catch up with Lauren Mcdowell recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lauren, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?

I do believe that you have to invest 100% of your time and energy into your creative business. Even if it starts out as a “side” hustle for you, once you eventually leave your so called 9-5 and take that leap of faith and put your focus on what drives your passion to create your reality within your brand you absolutely can manifest all you want with purpose focus dedication and patience. Patience is key for growing your own brand. You will have to initially put money into your brand with the proper resources of networking and online presence of web design / website an agent or someone who can design and help build your brand and guide you in the right direction for your brand and to attract the clients and abundance that you are looking to achieve.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I have a very unique business First and foremost i have always been a creator of anything that has to do with beauty. I am a intuitive psychic / empath so as a makeup artist i can look at someone and know exactly what would look good hair,makeup and styling wise.
I never sit anyone in front of a mirror so they can say will you do this or what about that. They give over complete trust to my skills as an artist and i execute what the client is looking for with there desired look.
I love making woman feel empowered even if it is a simple blowout or style to a simple lip color change to a full blown lets get glam and give you an altar ego makeover.
There is something about the creativity process of makeup and hair that can completely not only change someone’s confidence and life to just making your day better.
I have the gift and language of de-coding the mysteries of the universe with astrology and empowering everyone to dig deep into there true self and manifest there dreams through there personal natal chart.

: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My goal in any of my creative businesses is to EMPOWER anyone and everyone to be there most AUTHENTIC self. Transformation or we can say the phoenix rising is what i live not only my life by but what i always encourage others to embrace in there life and journey.
When you become empowered to say what you think -dress how you feel – wear the crazy hat you are afraid to wear or that bold lip you think you can never pull off you are embracing parts of your true self and thats where the transformation occurs in the small things that lead to life changing things.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

During the pandemic i had to get creative by combining my makeup and astrology together. Since i do alot of wedding work and due to the pandemic all of those weddings got post-poned and then my astrology business took off. I am an empath by nature so i can always tune in to where people are at in there journey not only through there astrology but by the vibration they put out. Everything is energy and i really hope more and more people do become enlightened by that. As a healer and having these powerful intuitive gifts and psychic abilities i am able to not only help someone manifest there life but the reward that all of my clients will contact me saying wow all your predictions did manifest in one way or another. That is what makes my heart full. I have now combined my makeup business with my astrology business to glam and give you are reading at the same time. It may not be for everyone but my tribe is all about it. It had been very abundant for me especially with bridal parties
