We were lucky to catch up with Lauren Ladouceur recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lauren, appreciate you joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
One of the biggest trends in the wedding industry right now is the rise of wedding content creation. A few years ago, couples relied solely on traditional photography and videography to document their wedding days. Today, content creation has emerged as a new and necessary vendor category, providing couples with immediate, authentic, and highly shareable wedding memories.
This trend is driven by the shift in how couples engage with their wedding memories. They don’t just want posed shots or cinematic videos that take months to receive. They want real-time, behind-the-scenes moments that feel personal, candid, and true to their experience. As a wedding content creator, I capture these in-between moments. The nervous excitement before walking down the aisle, the spontaneous laughs with the bridal party, the dance floor chaos that no one wants to forget.
One bride I worked with, Krystle, thought she was just hiring me for fun, social-ready clips. But when she saw her final video, she was in tears. “I had no idea how much I’d love seeing the little moments I missed,” she told me. That’s what content creation is all about. Filling in the gaps of the day, capturing memories as they unfold, and delivering them in a way that resonates with today’s couples.
The biggest opportunity in this trend? It allows couples to relive their wedding day instantly and share it in a way that feels natural to them. The challenge? Educating the industry and couples on why content creation is more than just an extra, it’s a game-changer for modern weddings.

Lauren, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi there, I’m Lauren – better known as Laur – and I’m a wedding content creator and lifestyle influencer. I grew up moving frequently due to my parents’ military careers, and I eventually landed in New York City, where I now call home. My journey in media started in the early days of YouTube, experimenting with video creation long before I knew it would become my career.
Before launching my business, I worked in marketing and corporate events for a multinational company. That experience taught me how to document and create engaging content around large-scale events. When the events industry came to a halt in 2020, I found myself planning my own wedding and sharing the process online. What started as a fun side project turned into something much bigger: millions of views, a passionate community, and eventually, an entirely new vendor category in the wedding industry.
Now, I work with couples to capture the unfiltered, joyful, and deeply personal moments of their wedding day in real-time. I also collaborate with brands in the bridal and lifestyle space, helping them connect with their audiences in meaningful ways. My work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Knot, and In The Know by Yahoo, solidifying wedding content creation as a vital part of modern weddings.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Absolutely. I had to pivot when I realized there was a major gap in the wedding industry—couples were craving real-time, behind-the-scenes content from their wedding day, and no one was offering this service in a meaningful way. I leaned into my skills, launched a wedding content creation business, and quickly became one of the first in the space. That pivot not only filled a need but helped shape and pioneer an entirely new niche in the wedding industry, one that now is served by more than 1,000 wedding content creators across the world.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building an engaged social media audience didn’t happen overnight; it was a mix of consistency, experimentation, and authenticity. When I started sharing my wedding planning journey online, I had no grand strategy. I just posted what felt real, helpful, and fun. That honesty resonated with people, and my audience grew organically.
The real turning point came when I began showing up not just as a creator, but as a trusted insider in the wedding industry. I made videos that weren’t just entertaining but genuinely valuable, answering questions couples didn’t even know to ask, breaking down myths, and sharing behind-the-scenes moments from real weddings. TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube became my platforms for education, inspiration, and connection.
For anyone just starting to build a social presence, my biggest advice is:
1. Show up consistently. You don’t need to post every day, but you do need to be present and engaged with your audience.
2. Be authentic. People connect with real stories, not perfectly curated content. Share your experiences, challenges, and wins.
3. Focus on value. Whether it’s education, entertainment, or inspiration, make sure your content serves your audience in some way.
4. Experiment and adapt. Social media changes constantly. Try new formats, see what resonates, and don’t be afraid to pivot if something isn’t working.
My journey from casual content creator to industry leader wasn’t planned, but by following what felt right and providing real value, I was able to build a community that trusts and engages with my content every day. And that, to me, is the best part of this entire journey.
