Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
Owning CairbNb LLC brings both joy and challenge. The freedom to set my own schedule and grow my business is incredibly rewarding, but there are times when I wonder what it’d be like to have a regular job with clear boundaries. The last time I had this thought was after a hectic weekend managing last-minute bookings. I was exhausted, standing in one of the rentals, thinking how nice it might be to have a predictable 9 to 5.
But after reflecting, I realized I wouldn’t trade the flexibility and sense of accomplishment from building my business. Even during stressful times, the rewards of entrepreneurship—control, purpose, and growth—outweigh the appeal of an easier, more predictable path.

I’m Lauren, a Baltimore-based entrepreneur, wife, mother, and student, currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Alongside my passion for psychology, I own and operate a growing Airbnb management and cleaning company called CairbNb LLC, which is focused on short-term rentals. My company handles everything from managing bookings to cleaning and preparing properties for guests. This way, my clients—many of whom are busy property owners—can enjoy the benefits of short-term rentals without the hassle of day-to-day management.
I got into this industry because I saw a gap in the market for reliable, efficient short-term rental management. As someone who’s always been organized and detail-oriented, it made sense to blend those skills with my background in customer service. I enjoy providing solutions that make my clients’ lives easier, from handling last-minute bookings to ensuring a seamless experience for guests. My business stands out because of my personalized approach—I treat each property as if it were my own, ensuring it’s not just clean, but welcoming and well-maintained.
What sets me apart is my commitment to a high level of service and my understanding of what both property owners and guests need. I strive to create experiences that make people feel comfortable, at ease, and well taken care of. I believe it’s that attention to detail and client care that makes CairbNb LLC thrive.
I’m most proud of building this business from the ground up, turning it into something that runs smoothly and makes life easier for my clients. It’s allowed me to take control of my career and grow something that reflects my values of quality, reliability, and hospitality.

Building my reputation in the market has been rooted in a few key things: reliability, attention to detail, and strong client relationships. First and foremost, I make sure that every property I manage is treated with the same care as if it were my own. Clients know they can count on me to handle last-minute bookings or unexpected issues, which builds trust. Consistency in providing high-quality service, from cleaning to guest management, has also been a huge factor.
Word of mouth has been crucial too. Satisfied clients recommend CairbNb LLC to others because they know I go the extra mile. Maintaining clear, open communication with both clients and guests helps build a sense of reliability, and the positive experiences I’ve created have naturally led to a good reputation.
Ultimately, what has set me apart is the personal touch I bring to the business. I make an effort to understand each client’s needs, ensuring that the solutions I provide are tailored to them. That level of commitment has been key in building my standing in the market.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A major lesson I had to unlearn was the belief that I needed to do everything myself for it to be done right. Early in the development of CairbNb LLC, I took on every aspect of the business—managing bookings, coordinating cleanings, handling guest inquiries, and even troubleshooting property issues. I thought that if I didn’t have my hands on every detail, the quality would suffer, and ultimately, my reputation would be at risk.
But as the business grew, I quickly realized that this mindset wasn’t sustainable. I found myself overwhelmed and exhausted, which wasn’t good for me or the business. I knew something had to change. The turning point came when I had back-to-back bookings across multiple properties, and despite my best efforts, I couldn’t be everywhere at once. I had to trust my cleaning team and assistants to handle things—and they did an amazing job.
I learned that delegation doesn’t mean sacrificing quality, and that building a strong team of reliable people is essential to growing a business. Letting go of that need for control has allowed me to focus on scaling CairbNb LLC and providing even better service to my clients. It was a tough lesson, but it ultimately made the business stronger.
