We were lucky to catch up with Lauren Gardner recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lauren, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.

A few years ago, my husband, a maintenance welder at the time, was repairing an awning with a coworker. They were carrying the sheet metal when a gust of wind caught it and sliced his wrist severing his tendon almost all the way through. He was lucky, had it severed completely he would have been left with a useless hand. Following two surgeries, and several months of treatment, the wound was healed but the pain did not cease. The doctor’s only answer was pain pills. My husband did not want to live an opioid filled life and asked me to make something. So I began researching what natural butters and essential oils would alleviate pain. I did a great deal of research on CBD and all its parts. I then picked a strain rated highly for pain relief.

I found a wealth of research and began gathering supplies to make what would eventually become our Original Green Goat Salve.

Lauren, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Myself, I am a full-time working mom and wife. I have always loved to make things myself rather than purchase in a big box store. After I created this salve for my husband, friends and neighbors were asking to try it for their own pains. I knew then that I wanted to share The Green Goat with everyone. I wanted to give others the same natural pain relief alternative that I was sharing with friends and family. I also wanted to give those that have to take opioids another option that would not damage a persons body.

Our products are made from fair trade organic ingredients, therapeutic grade essential oils, and Ringo’s Gift Hemp from small farms in Oregon. Having the highest quality ingredients and not cutting corners with an isolate is what sets us apart from other CBD pain salves.

We simply solve the problem of pain.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been word of mouth by far.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Being open and honest with our clients and those looking just for more information about hemp and CBD. Having a product that delivers and knowing that the best ingredients are used continues to help us build our reputation within the CBD market.
