Lauren , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?

I launched Luxe Allure Interiors (LAI) in my apartment in the year 2019 after noticing my growing interest in home decor. Prior to moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 2018, I always had the urge to re-decorate my room in my parent’s home by changing wall colors, rearranging furniture and taking decor from other rooms and incorporating it into my own space. I would always receive compliments on small projects from friends and family, but never thought that I could turn this talent into an actual business. After countless conversations with individuals, I no longer was able to suppress the idea of becoming serious about interior decorating. I took the risk and came up with the name Luxe Allure Interiors, developed a price list and made a business Instagram account (Of course lol). I received my first client and the rest was history! I’m a fond believer that God provides all of his children with talents to serve others and interior decorating is my gift.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Lauren E. Franklin and I was born and raised in Ridgeland, Mississippi. I graduated from Thee Jackson State University obtaining my B.S. in Healthcare Administration and Masters in Public Health. My passion for caring for others has allowed me to thrive in the field of Public Health for 8 years. Additionally, my love for interior decorating derived from my mother who has always had an eye for decorating and working on home projects. Luxe Allure Interiors is an Atlanta based company specializing in complete interior decorating, which includes 3D renderings. LAI launched in October of 2019 and has produced designs for various young professionals across the southeastern United States. My brand features luxury with uniqueness. I am committed to creating spaces for clients that reflect their unique personality and lifestyle.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

For me, I believe creating spaces for my clients that they never want to leave has to be the most fulfilling aspect of my business. I’m a home-body, so I feel like my house should be curated to the most comfortable and chic space since I spend the majority of my time there. Being able to completely transform an individual’s home brings me such an immense amount of joy!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

Whew! There have been countless lessons that I’ve had to unlearn since I began decorating for other people. The biggest lesson I had to unlearn (and am still unlearning) is that breaks are not important when designing. I initially thought that I could produce projects in a short amount of time, but boy was I wrong. I quickly learned that it’s okay to completely close my laptop and take a break and start back fresh the next day to ensure that I am creating quality work.
