Lauren, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?

Being misunderstood is inspiring… BUT, I didn’t always see it this way. I’ve embraced my brightness and at this point in my life & career, I let it shine unapologetically. Misunderstandings often happen when people aren’t ready or able to see someone’s true light, but I’m resilient in being authentic. It is a testament of my strength. I’ve worked with many strong personalities in my 17 years in my industry and my kindness has always been mischaracterized as weakness. I love this!!! A force that someone didnt see coming …. it is a beautiful and empowering realization! It is like stepping into your full self, humbly and embracing your bright light. it is transformative!!!!

Seventeen years ago, I took a leap of faith and dove headfirst into the beauty industry, not knowing it would take me on a journey of transformation and growth both personally and professionally. As a hair and makeup artist, I’ve honed my craft in Houston and expanded my artistry across the globe, evolving every step of the way.

My passion for beauty and storytelling inspired the creation of my sister company, PURE Photo. PURE Photo is dedicated to capturing life’s most cherished moments with professional photography and even video services for every event and milestone. The seamless blend of my two worlds—glam and photography/videography—allows me to offer a unique, full-circle experience for my clients.

It’s an incredible privilege to not only glam up my clients for their special occasions but also to capture them throughout the event. I’m there for every moment, ensuring they look and feel their absolute best with any needed professional touch ups, all while capturing memories they’ll get to relive over and over and treasure forever.

This dual role as an artist and photographer/videographer has deepened my connection with clients and fuels my passion to continually grow and innovate.

I’m passionate about using my work to inspire others, help them see the beauty and best in themselves, and create meaningful connections. Whether through makeup/hair, photo/video, or holistic practices, my goal is to breathe love, light, and life into everyone I meet and work with. I aim to lead by example, showing that creativity can be a powerful force for transformation, both for individuals and the industry as a whole. It’s about uplifting others, fostering growth, and bringing beauty and inspiration into every space I touch. My creative journey is deeply rooted in a mission to heal, evolve, and bring light into everything I do in this life. It’s this purpose that fuels my passion and keeps me excited for every new opportunity to connect and create.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

EMPOWERMENT, connection & Healing! Let’s start there. I want to share the Joy of ‘Feeling Good in Your Own Skin’ while inspiring others to embrace their authentic selves, find confidence in their unique beauty AND STORY, and experience the inner and outer harmony that comes from self-love and care. My work aims to uplift others by showing them how radiant they can feel when they honor themselves.
Whether through beauty, holistic practices, or emotional connection, my goal is to help people overcome the barriers that keep them from feeling whole. Understanding that healing comes in many forms—physical, emotional, and spiritual—and I am driven to offer services and even tools that support this transformation. PURE has some big things in store in our future. I have a vision for a studio goes beyond offering services—it’s about creating a sanctuary. This space is meant to foster beauty, connection, community, healing, and self-discovery. It’s a place where people can come to feel seen, supported, and reconnected with themselves and others. It’s the embodiment of my mission—a hub for transformation and renewal.

My creative journey is much more than a career; it’s a calling. It’s about touching lives, sparking change, and building a legacy of healing, beauty, and community.
