Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for Rank Rise Studio started with something I kept noticing in my work with small businesses: almost everyone put their time and money into social media, but overlooked their local business pages on platforms like Google, Yelp, and Apple Maps. These pages are actually where most customers search for businesses when they’re ready to buy or visit, yet many profiles were ignored, incomplete, or filled with issues that hurt their visibility.
Having grown up in an entrepreneurial family, I understood how stretched small business owners can be, and I saw firsthand the frustration they felt trying to handle listing problems that seemed small, but were a real headache. I realized there wasn’t a service focused on consistently managing and optimizing these crucial pages to help local businesses truly stand out.
When I started helping friends and local businesses fix and manage their profiles, the results were almost immediate: their phones started ringing, new customers came in, and they finally got the chance to show off the best parts of their businesses. Seeing those quick wins was exciting—and showed me how much impact this work could have. Hi! My name is Lauren & I am the owner and founder of Rank Rise Studio, a company dedicated to helping small businesses thrive by making it easy for them to get found and chosen online. My journey started in a family of entrepreneurs—my dad owned a small business and my uncle was always working on a new project, so I saw firsthand just how many hats small business owners wear and how much their success means to them.

What’s helped me build my reputation within my market most has been word-of-mouth referrals and the success stories of my clients. There’s nothing more powerful than a happy business owner sharing their positive experience—whether it’s leaving a glowing review, tagging me in a Facebook post when someone asks for recommendations, or telling other local businesses how I helped them get noticed online.
These organic client referrals have been key to growing my business. When clients start seeing real results—more calls, better reviews, new customers—they’re excited to spread the word and connect me with others. Conversations about M&A are often focused on multibillion dollar transactions – but M&A can be an important part of a small or medium business owner’s journey. We’d love to hear about your experience with selling businesses.
I haven’t sold a business yet myself, but it’s something I plan to do with Rank Rise Studio in the future. Right now, I’m working with several clients who are preparing to sell their own businesses, and I’ve learned a lot from helping them with this process.
One of the biggest lessons is seeing how important a strong, well-managed online presence—especially local business pages like Google, Yelp, and Apple Maps—can be when listing a company for sale. These pages aren’t just marketing tools; they’re valuable assets that showcase the reputation, visibility, and customer engagement of a business. Improving and optimizing these profiles before a sale can make a big difference in attracting buyers and demonstrating the value of the business.
