We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lauren Daly. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lauren below.
Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Ever since I was a little girl, around three years old, I knew I wanted to be a singer and an actress. I would put on shows in the living room, singing into a hairbrush, fully believing I was born to be on stage. That spark never left me, but for a long time, I didn’t fully believe it was something I could choose for myself.
It wasn’t until my late twenties that I gave myself permission to say, “Choosing me is okay.” That shift came from one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life. In 2021, I lost my brother to gun violence. He was only 29, so full of life and potential. His passing shook me to my core and changed the way I looked at everything. I knew he would want me to live fully, to pursue my dreams without hesitation. That became my promise, to him and to myself.
That same year, in July 2021, I recorded my very first song. I held onto it for a year, nurturing it quietly in my heart, unsure of when or how to release it into the world. Then came Essence Fest in New Orleans, a pivotal moment. There, I met GaTa, who is now not only a friend but a huge inspiration in my journey. In February 2025, we released our collaboration “Change,” a track that speaks deeply to transformation, healing, and growth.
At the beginning of 2025, I made a commitment to myself: one new song every month. I’ve either met or surpassed that goal each time. In May, I took another big leap and founded Lauren Daly Global LLC, a platform for both my music and my merchandise. It’s more than just a brand, it’s a space where I’m learning the business side of the industry, building a foundation for long-term success, and creating a home for my creative vision to flourish.
Every day brings something new lessons, challenges, small victories. But I’m in love with the journey. I’m growing, I’m creating, and most importantly, I’m choosing myself, just like that little girl always dreamed I would.

Lauren, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Lauren Daly, and I’m a singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, and founder of Lauren Daly Global LLC, a brand born from healing, purpose, and passion. I got into this industry not just because I loved music and performing since I was a child, but because I knew that art had the power to heal. After losing my brother to gun violence in 2021, I made a life-changing decision to pursue my creative path with intention and heart. That moment became the turning point where my passion met my purpose.
My work spans across music, merch, and motivation. As an independent music artist, I create songs that speak to resilience, self-discovery, transformation, and emotional honesty. Every track I release is rooted in real experiences, my own and those that many others relate to but don’t always have the words for. My goal is to help people feel seen, inspired, and empowered to live their truth, no matter where they are in their journey.
In 2025, I launched Lauren Daly Global LLC, a growing independent label and lifestyle brand that blends music, message, and merchandise. Through LDG, I release my music independently, offer exclusive branded merch tied to my songs and messages, and build community around authenticity and creative empowerment. What makes this brand special is that it’s built from the ground up with heart, vision, and hands-on learning. I’m deeply involved in everything—from songwriting to business operations, because I want to grow sustainably and understand every part of my craft and company.
What sets me apart is my authenticity. I don’t make music for algorithms, I make music for people. For real life. For healing. For joy. For the moments we feel lost, and the moments we remember who we are. My brand isn’t about trends, it’s about truth. I’m not just an artist. I’m a storyteller, a builder, and a student of life, committed to showing others that it’s never too late to bet on yourself.
What I’m most proud of is that I started. I stopped waiting for permission, and I began creating. Releasing one song a month in 2025 has not only held me accountable to my dreams but has also helped me connect with listeners all over who resonate with the messages in my music. I’m also proud of the collaboration with GaTa on our song “Change,” which represents a full-circle moment of inspiration turned into action.
For anyone new to my work, I want you to know this: I create from the heart, I build with intention, and I lead with love. Whether you listen to a song, wear a piece of my merch, or follow my journey, you’re part of something real. Lauren Daly Global is still growing, and so am I, but we’re doing it with purpose, power, and passion.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding part of being an artist is the connection, when something I’ve created touches someone in a real, meaningful way. Whether it’s a song that helps someone feel seen, lyrics that give language to emotions they couldn’t quite express, or even just a moment of inspiration that reminds someone they’re not alone, that’s what fills me up.
There’s something powerful about turning pain into purpose, joy into celebration, and experiences into art. Every time I release a new song or piece of merch, it’s like sharing a piece of my heart and knowing that someone out there receives it, feels it, and maybe even grows because of it, is the greatest reward.
Being a creative also allows me to keep evolving. I get to grow alongside my art, learn more about myself with each project, and step into new versions of who I’m becoming. That kind of freedom, expression, and impact is what makes this journey so deeply fulfilling.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
One thing I think non-creatives might struggle to fully understand is how deeply personal and vulnerable this journey really is. Being a creative isn’t just about making something beautiful or entertaining, it’s about revealing parts of yourself that are often raw, emotional, and still healing. Every song I write, every decision I make in my business, every post I share, it’s all a reflection of who I am and what I’m living through in real time.
There’s also this unspoken pressure creatives carry, the pressure to be “on,” to constantly produce, to succeed in a world that often doesn’t recognize or value the emotional labor behind the art. Sometimes the work is joyful and freeing, but other times it takes a lot of courage just to keep going, especially when you don’t see instant results or validation.
What I would share with anyone outside the creative world is this: creativity isn’t just a hobby or a talent, it’s a calling. It requires resilience, faith, and a willingness to be misunderstood. But it also comes with the most incredible rewards: connection, growth, impact, and freedom.
If you know someone walking a creative path, support them with patience and presence. They’re not just chasing a dream, they’re building a life around what moves their soul. And that takes more strength than most people realize.
