Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lauren Clark. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lauren, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My mum is a hero! She has always shown me even from a young age that you work hard even when life throws you challenges and being reliable is important.
My dad also worked hard and even after strokes he went back to work and didn’t let it stop him from working.
When I had an accident at my previous job, I had a lot of time where I was having to rest and have treatment. Even when life gave me this huge challenge that caused me to have Fibromyalgia. My mum taught me to never give up, this is when I started my blog and social media platforms.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Lauren and I run the blog www.bournemouthgirl.com. I am the eldest of 4 siblings and have a little nephew and niece. I am a lover of stationery, animals, nature and love living near the beach in Bournemouth.
I first started my blog back in 2017 after I had an accident at my previous employment. It gave me a lot of time where I couldn’t walk around as well as resting and having treatment. I had wanted to start a blog for about a year before this and after my accident I realised it was the perfect time.
I started a blog covering a range of topics but as time went on, my passions changed and I wanted to create a particular niche on my blog. So I now cover planning, organisation, bullet journaling, self-care and mental health. I loved to be organised and love sharing my tips to help others live a more organised life.
I currently work on sponsored content, advertising and marketing for bloggers and businesses, social media content and guest posting.
Some content that I am extremely proud of is working with Great Ormond Street Hospital, LUSH and Archer & Olive.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of running a blog and social media is to have people message me on my blog, social media or email about how my content has helped them, inspired them or made them realise they are not alone.

How did you build your audience on social media?
It doesn’t happen over night and that is the main point to remember about setting up any social media platform.
For me, it was about posting consistently and scheduling. When you schedule regular content you can appear online even when you aren’t, which helps to keep your audience engaged.
Engagement is another way to grow your social media, commenting on other people’s posts, building connections and follow creators who share the same niche and passions.
