We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lauren Chun. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lauren below.
Lauren, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Hi! I’m Lauren Chun or @chunsofunn on my social media platforms. While I’m a social media marketing professional full-time, I enjoy being a foodie and experience based content creator in my free time.
I’ve always loved story-telling and my social media accounts are really just an extension of that passion. Growing up in a predominantly white area gave me a strong motivation, from a very young age, to share my culture with others and to also uplift other minorities around me.
Through my social media platforms, I’ve been able to do this on a larger scale and it’s something I’m extremely honored to do and is something I’m very proud of. I love being able to connect with other community members and support them by promoting their women owned, minority owned, local businesses. I also pride myself on being as authentic and honest as possible in my video reviews, making sure that my audience is receiving honest information and also ensuring that the businesses that I am promoting are receiving truthful reviews as well.
I truly never thought this hobby would turn into something greater, but I’m glad it did and that I’ve been able to have these amazing experiences!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect for me is being able to support and help out local businesses. I truly feel honored when I get messages telling me how much a business has profited or expanded because of the video reviews and video collaborations I did for them.
How did you build your audience on social media?
As I’ve stated earlier, I think one of the most important things to do as a creative or an artist is to be as authentic as possible. If you are true to yourself and kind towards others, good things and good people will come your way.
I posted videos being my complete, authentic self without the intention of becoming “viral” or gaining followers, and I truly believe that this is what people enjoy seeing and why they want to follow me.
