Lauren, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
I have travelled my whole life growing up with my family and with my husband. We have travelled the world. I became a luxury travel agent as all my friends and family wanted to do the same trips as I have been on. My clients reach out to me to plan their travels as I have been to the destinations they want to travel to. This makes me unique and different than other travel agents who have not travelled to unique places to make the trips extra special and high end.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a luxury travel agent and curate all different type luxury trips for my clients who range from honeymooners, singles, couples, families and multi generational. What sets me apart from others as I have traveled to most places that I recommend and have experienced the cities and hotels first hand. I am most proud winning Rising Star in the industry with ProTravel who has over 1022 travel agents. I got to where I am because of my love for travel and this allowed me to have lot of clients. I also am always doing training courses on different areas and traveling to do hotel site tours for my clients. I recently completed a year long course on becoming an Africa Specialist so I am very excited about it!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The most important factor behind my success was my passion and love for traveling and making other peoples trips as special as the ones I plan for my family and friends. When you truly love and are passionate about what you do then you succeed as it does not feel like a job. This comes across to other as well and they would rather work for you.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
My new business comes from word of mouth and referral. I go over and beyond for planning trips for my clients to make it special and because of this they always refer me to friends and family.
