Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Laurasha Lovett. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Laurasha , thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe success is built on life experiences and the willingness to fail forward. Every “no” I’ve heard, every door closed in my face, and every mistake I’ve made have been lessons that pushed me closer to where I am today. Those setbacks didn’t stop me — they refined me. Over time, I learned that rejection isn’t the end; it’s redirection, and each challenge has shaped me into a stronger, more resilient version of myself.

Laurasha , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Laurasha Lovett, a wife, mom of four, Marine veteran, and breast cancer survivor who turned my passion for creating into a purpose-driven business. My brand, Lovett Lane, is a lifestyle company that brings together bath, body, and home products with a focus on self-care, creativity, and family legacy. What started as a simple love for handmaking soaps has grown into a full product line — from natural soaps, lotions, soufflés, and shower steamers to wax melts and room mists — all designed to transform everyday routines into meaningful moments of relaxation and joy.
Beyond the products, I focus on solving a bigger problem: helping busy women, especially stay-at-home moms like myself, carve out time to care for themselves while still managing family and business. My work is not just about creating beautiful products, but about creating experiences that remind women they can pour back into themselves without guilt.
What sets me apart is that every part of my brand is rooted in real life — my journey of resilience, balance, and building financial freedom from home. I’ve lived the chaos of motherhood, the discipline of the military, and the fight for survival, and all of that pours into what I create and how I connect with my community.
I’m most proud of building a brand that represents more than products — it represents a lifestyle, a lane where women can feel seen, cared for, and inspired to create the life they love. At the end of the day, I want people to know that Lovett Lane is more than a brand; it’s a movement that stands for family, freedom, and self-care.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the biggest tests of my resilience came when I received an order for 3,000 shower steamers from the AARP Black Business subscription box. At the same time, my wife fell sick, my help fell through, and I was left to tackle it completely on my own. I had just 16 days to get it done, and I pushed myself to finish in 12 — working 12–16 hour days with little sleep, no time to cook for my family, and no energy for anything except production. My house was a mess, my body was exhausted, and I even battled daily headaches, but I refused to quit. It was the biggest order I had ever taken on, and even though I realized I didn’t yet have all the proper tools or systems, I powered through and got it done. That experience showed me that resilience isn’t about comfort — it’s about commitment. When everything around you says stop, resilience is the voice inside that says, “keep going.” And I did it.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
What many people don’t know is that this business actually started with our daughter when she was just 9. She received a bath bomb kit for Christmas, ran out of product, and decided she wanted to learn how to make them herself. She took her own money, invested in supplies, and fell in love with the process. As her parents, we supported her fully — taking classes, researching, and learning everything we could to help her succeed. What began as Selene’s Bubbly Bath Bombs eventually grew into Artistry Lather.
As the orders started coming in more frequently, she realized the business was a lot to manage, especially while preparing to start middle school, so she decided to step away. But by that point, I had fallen in love with it myself. My creative side and my love for science and chemistry came together perfectly in this work. I decided to keep going, expanding the product line into soaps, body butters, lotions, and shower steamers.
Then, life took a turn when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to step back, but that season changed everything for me. I learned firsthand the importance of not only what we put inside our bodies, but also what we put on our skin. That perspective pushed me to reimagine the business, rebrand, and reformulate with more natural, vegan-friendly, skin-safe ingredients.
What started as a side project for my daughter has now grown into Lovett Lane — a lifestyle brand that represents creativity, wellness, and resilience. Every pivot, every pause, and every comeback has been a milestone that shaped both me and the business into what it is today.
