We were lucky to catch up with Laura Shryock recently and have shared our conversation below.
Laura, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Mission Statement
At the heart of my business is a commitment to wellness, confidence, and self-care—inside and out. I believe in saying yes to you and your health, empowering you to feel better, look better, and live better. Through expert aesthetic treatments and science-backed wellness solutions, I help clients embrace their beauty, vitality, and overall well-being. Your journey to looking and feeling your best starts here—I can help.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
🤔As I reflect on my journey and the past, I realize how blessed I am to wear the many hats I do. It’s through God’s grace, the unwavering support of my core people, and the relationships I’ve built along the way that I’ve been able to embrace a life I love—a life centered around helping others.
👩⚕️It all started with nursing, my first calling, where I learned the true power of compassion and care. Nursing showed me that healing isn’t just about medicine; it’s about connection, empathy, and being present for someone in their most vulnerable moments. But as life unfolded, I discovered my purpose didn’t end there—it only expanded.
🏡At home, I’m a mother and a wife, blessed with God’s greatest gifts: my family. My husband has been my rock, always waving his support as I chase new goals and dreams. His belief in me has been a constant source of strength, allowing me to give my all to the people and causes I care about most. My family is my anchor, my reason, and my joy. Every decision I make and every path I walk is guided by the love I have for them.
🩵When I decided to join LifeVantage, it felt like an extension of my mission. Activating the body’s natural abilities to heal and thrive resonated deeply with me. These products not only complemented my work at ShezAmee Salon but also empowered me to help people feel better from the inside out.
🩼At ShezAmee, I’ve learned that sometimes helping others means addressing what’s on the surface. Botox and fillers may seem purely aesthetic, but for many, they’re transformative. Looking younger often helps people feel younger, restoring confidence and self-love. There’s a psychological component to this work that’s as fulfilling as any other aspect of my career.
🩵My journey also brought me to Prime Care Services, where I teach staff members how to safely administer medications to individuals with disabilities. This role fills my heart in ways I can’t describe. It’s my “feel-good job,” where I know I’m making a difference for those who can’t advocate for themselves.
❤️Another hat I wear is as a CPR instructor, teaching life-saving skills to others. This role reminds me of how fragile life is and how empowering it can be to equip someone with the tools to make a difference in an emergency. It’s humbling to know that what I teach could one day save a life.
Of course, this path hasn’t been without challenges. At times, I’ve felt disheartened by the negativity that surrounds the idea of wanting to help others. There’s jealousy, doubt, and resistance, but I refuse to let that deter me. I choose kindness, always. I choose to focus on lifting others up, even when it’s hard.
🎉To those who feel stuck in their “I can’t” or “I don’t have time” mindsets, I want to say this: Let me help you. Whether you need more energy, better sleep, improved focus, or support for your health goals, I’m here. If you’re struggling with fine lines, weight, or confidence, I’ve got you. You can do this. I promise.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Building your business on social media takes consistency, authenticity, and strategy.
1. Show Up Consistently – Post regularly to stay top of mind. Whether it’s daily or a few times a week, consistency builds trust.
2. Share Your Story – People connect with real people. Show your journey, your passion, and why you do what you do.
3. Understand the Algorithm – Each platform has different rules. Use trending sounds, hashtags, and engagement tactics to boost visibility.
4. Engage Your Audience – Respond to comments, DMs, and engage with their content, too. Build relationships, not just followers.
5. Ask Questions & Create Conversations – Invite interaction with polls, Q&A, and thought-provoking questions. Engagement drives reach.
6. Educate & Inspire – Provide value with tips, testimonials, and success stories. Show how your products and services help.
7. Use Video & Live Content – Reels and Lives get priority in most algorithms and create stronger connections.
8. Call to Action (CTA) – Always guide your audience on what to do next
Social media is about connection first, sales second. Show up, be real, and help people see why they need what you offer.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Building strong client relationships comes down to rapport, education, and appreciation.
1. Build Rapport – Personalize interactions, engage on social media, and create a welcoming experience.
2. Educate – Share tips, product knowledge, and treatment benefits to empower clients.
3. Follow Up – Check in after appointments, offer tailored advice, and show you care.
4. Gather Feedback – Listen to client experiences to improve services and strengthen trust.
5. Loyalty Rewards – Offer exclusive perks, discounts, and referral incentives to keep them coming back.
Consistency + Connection = Lasting Brand Loyalty!
