We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Laura Morales a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Laura thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I’m Laura, and I’ve dedicated over 20 years of my life to being a make-up artist. Throughout my career, I attended various institutions to refine my skills in beauty, character, special effects, and theater make-up. With each passing year, my love for the art of transformation with makeup grew stronger, and I developed a deep understanding of what it takes to create truly exceptional looks.
As I honed my craft, I realized the importance of using products that aligned with my values. That’s why I established MissPrissyMUA Cosmetics-a brand that reflects my passion for my core principles.
Firstly, I strongly believe that make-up should enhance our natural beauty while caring for our skin. Our products are meticulously formulated with high-quality ingredients to ensure they nourish and protect the skin. I’ve spent countless hours researching nd testing various products.
Animal welfare has also been close to my heart, I am a fur-gramma to two adorable fur babies. It was essential for me to create a brand that was completely cruelty-free. I refuse to support practices that harm innocent creatures claiming this is for beauty. When you choose MissPrissyMUA’s cosmetics, you can trust that your beauty routine aligns with our standards.
Last affordability should not be a barrier for experiencing luxury. I understand that not everyone can afford high-end cosmetics, but that doesn’t mean they should settle for subpar quality. With MissPrissyMUA’s cosmetics, I set out to offer products that rival prestigious brands in terms of quality, while keeping them accessible to a wider audience.
Creating MissPrissyMUA Cosmetics has been a journey of passion, determination, and artistic expression. I carefully curated our product range, from captivating eyeshadow palettes bursting with colors and lighter ones for more natural looks. Our matte liquid lipsticks and lip glosses have a wide range of colors for all. Our packaging reflects our brand sophistication and playful nature, just like the diverse individuals who use our products. We cover the range from someone who loves vibrant colors to another who enjoys more natural colors for everyday use.
Being the founder of MissPrissyMUA Cosmetics has given me the opportunity to empower individuals to embrace their unique beauty and express themselves authentically. I’ve seen the confidence that comes from feeling good in one’s own skin, and it fuels my dedication to making beauty inclusive and ethical.
MissPrissyMUA’s cosmetics isn’t just a brand- it is a manifestation of my values, my knowledge, and a celebration of beauty, and a vehicle for positive change in the beauty industry. With every product, I aim to inspire and uplift, allowing individuals to create their own stunning works of art. Together, we can redefine what it means to be beautiful no matter who you are. “Bringing Beauty From the Inside-Out”.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have done make-up for the last 20 years. I started doing make-up for family and friends. I tried Halloween make-up for my sisters when we used to go Trick O’ Treating. I have multiple certifications for Beauty, Fantasy and Character make-up. I also do Bridal and special occasions like red carpets.
I started working on developing my own brand of make-up more than 10 years ago and started looking into manufacturers and shipping. I have done research to make sure what products I wanted to build on and incorporate. When building my brand skin is most important and building on from there.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
During my first classes for make-up, my teachers were surprised to see my technique with no previous classes or knowledge. I had never been mentored or taught in the field. I took multiple classes and got certified to do make-up. From beauty to special FX, I was able to be diversify my knowledge and offer multiple things to my customers.

Have you ever had to pivot?
After being certified for beauty make-up, I worked with the teacher that certified me and assisted her to open her own school. I managed all our non-profit events and mentored students for 3 years.
When I wanted to start teaching I came into a road block and I decided to move on and create my own clientele. This is also the time when I decided to create or work with companies to come up with the cosmetics line. While doing research the roadblocks continued and I made the decision that I needed to create my own cosmetics line.
