We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Laura Meza Wulf . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Laura below.
Laura, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
I wish I had started my business in real estate sooner but I also know that in life things happen for a reason at the right time. Was I ready to embark on this business 15-20 years ago? maybe not…but what I do know is that what I have been exposed to during this almost decade in real estate, has taught me that I’m not waiting any longer for what I want. I have that mentality of “if you can’t handle it, move out of the way because I will”. I gained confidence along the way.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I used to be a flight attendant. Meeting new people and traveling the world was something that always fascinated me. Still does. I think that’s the beauty of real estate as well, meeting new clients that later on become friends. I still get to travel quite a bit to our corporate events, I travel with my “Lilly Pulitzer” friends, and I go to seminars like Tony Robbins every year among others. I am loyal to CENTURY 21 Beggins. This company gave me the power to believe in myself and has helped me grow so much not only professionally but personally. Working with the most recognized real estate company in the world has opened doors that wouldn’t have been there if I were not with them. I have contacts from C21 Argentina and some contacts in Europe as well. I always tell my clients that once we work together, you are stuck with me for the rest of your life! ha! I think they appreciate that I don’t treat them as another “transaction”, I’m their real estate advisor for life.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Referrals. My past clients come back to me, not only for repeated business but they also refer me to their friends and family. I’m very straight forward, my customers know how I work, how I communicate and know that their referrals will be treated the same way. I don’t take things for granted. I always tell people that I want to earn their business for life, not just for one transaction. I have seen and learned from the best. We are in the service business, which tends to get lost in the craziness of the ever-changing markets that we are in. I am fortunate to be surrounded by incredible clients in a city that is constantly evolving and growing.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I think one of the best things you can do for your business is being consistent. People may not always interact with you on social media but being seen and sharing stories that they can relate with, is huge. I share a lot of my life, what I like to do, what I don’t feel like doing sometimes like “going to the gym” some days…and sharing your true self. People appreciate you more when they see the real you, the good, bad and in between.
