Laura, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

I founded Primitiva to create tangible reminders for you to live purposefully and consciously. Every soul-crafted design invites you to embody the spirit of its affirmation and reconnect with your authentic self. My talismans and amulets draw inspiration from astrology, spirituality, and Mother Earth, and I believe that the combination of healing crystals and intentional symbols act as conduits for manifesting one’s desires.

Laura, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am an artist, culture bearer, and entrepreneur living in Minnesota. Born and raised in Colombia, I grew up watching jewelers craft the ancient technique of filigree and knew in my heart that one day I would share this beauty with the world.

My brand Primitiva Jewelry combines intentional symbolism with powerful healing gemstones to help reconnect with your personal magic.

Primitiva is an artisan-run small business. Each piece is as intricate and unique as you are, created with the wisdom and passion that has been passed down through generations.

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.

I always knew I wanted to share with the world the beautiful art of filigree. Artisans in my home country Colombia have worked with this technique for more than 500 years. It has been passed on for many generations, and it represents the talent, love, and respect for my cultural heritage.

Any advice for managing a team?

I think an effective way to manage teams and maintain high morale is to engage people in all possible aspects of the business. allow them to give you their opinion and listen to their ideas. Often time group thinking proves to be more effective. It allows us to find creative solutions to current problems. I also believe in the importance of being kind, fair, and honest. Caring for our team genuinely will foster deeper connections beyond the transactional.
