Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Laura Meleney. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Laura, thanks for joining us today. Can you share a customer success story with us?

I have quite a few of these success stories! One client came to me eager to understand several dreams that had stuck with her for years. She shared two in particular—one from early childhood, around age three or four, and another from later in life. (She has given me permission to share her story.)

In the first dream, she and her mother were in a stark hospital room, hiding. Employees were searching for them because they weren’t supposed to be there. When they entered the room, my client—despite being just a small child in the dream—offered her mother the safer hiding spot while leaving herself exposed.

In the second dream, she was with her family during a tornado. But rather than a massive storm, the tornado was small enough to fit in her hand. Her family members wanted to touch it, but she wouldn’t let them, afraid they might get hurt.

After asking her a few questions, I explained that both dreams seemed to reflect a deep pattern—her willingness to sacrifice her own safety and happiness for her family. Even as a toddler, her subconscious was already processing this role. Despite the years between these dreams, the message remained the same.

She was stunned by this realization, saying it made so much sense in the context of her life. The interpretation brought her profound clarity, and she was deeply grateful.

This is just one example of why I love helping people interpret their dreams—it’s not just about understanding dreams, but about uncovering deeper truths about ourselves in ways we may never have considered.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I’ve been fascinated by dreams since high school. Mine were so vivid and often bizarre, and I couldn’t help but wonder—why do I dream these things? That curiosity led me to check out books on dream interpretation, pore over dream dictionaries, and even write school papers on the subject. Sometimes, I kept dream journals or took deep dives into the dreams that stood out the most.

Over time, I had a major realization: my dreams weren’t just random stories happening to me while I slept—they were me. They reflected my inner emotions, thoughts, experiences, and even my thinking patterns.

As my understanding grew, I naturally started helping close friends and family interpret their dreams. I loved getting messages or calls asking, Can you help me figure this out?

Then, about two years ago, I realized I could teach people how to do this for themselves. I knew there had to be a way to break down the key elements of dream interpretation and share them with others. So, I wrote and published my book! I also launched my business, started offering private dream interpretation sessions, and began doing live dream readings on TikTok.

In my work, I listen closely to a person’s dream, ask relevant questions to uncover connections between their dream and their waking life, and help them understand why they dreamt it. From there, we explore any insights or positive steps they might take—if that feels right for them.

Beyond one-on-one interpretations, I love teaching people how to develop a deeper relationship with their dreams. Each month, I host a dream journaling meetup through my friend’s online Meetup community. Using my book as a guide, we explore how to recognize patterns in dreams, discuss creative ways to record them, and share dream experiences in a supportive space.

I’m most proud of my book and the empowerment it offers others to decode their own dreams. But just as fulfilling is that moment when someone makes the connection between a dream and their real life—the clarity that washes over them is incredible. For those on a journey of self-discovery and inner growth, understanding their dreams can be truly transformative.

My goal is to bring awareness that your dreams can offer you more than a nightly adventure. They can offer you a deeper understanding of yourself and self-growth transformation. They have done that for me.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.

I chose to self-publish my book through Amazon. There are several reason as to why! Writing a book is one thing but then dipping your toes in the publishing world can be overwhelming and scary. Not only did I not have thousands of dollars to pay a publisher but there are so many scam companies out there. You really have to educate yourself and research companies.
Between the fear of picking a bad company and the truth that I didnt have a lot of money to start off with, I ultimately thought it was best to go the self publishing route with Amazon because its a company I know is real and I can pay them as I sell my book and not prior too. It takes care of printing and delivering my product and gave me the most peace of mind.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

I have the best visibility through TikTok! I have done a lot of networking through TikTok and people have grown to know me and what I do with dreams very well. I have a few people that have nicknamed me as “The dream woman”. I have met a lot of Tarot readers, healers, mediums, and psychics on that app and most of them do not know how to interpret dreams. Therefore, I get a lot of new clients through referral’s and word of mouth through several of them.
I also do my own lives and answer dream questions, and post videos that are constantly getting seen and liked or commented on.
TikTok has been the best source for almost all of my clients.
