We were lucky to catch up with Laura & Martin Bueno recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Laura & Martin , thanks for joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
The story of how we came up with the idea for Roamer Agency is really a reflection of our shared journey. Martin’s love for photography and videography started at 14, when one of his first gifts was a camera. From there, his passion only grew. As for me, I’ve always been drawn to social media and marketing, which started back in college when I began sharing content and realizing the power of connecting with people through platforms.
Throughout both of our lives, we’ve always been involved in creative jobs—whether it was Martin behind the lens, or me working in various administrative roles, and later as a marketing director. All of these experiences, the good and the challenging, shaped who we are today.
But honestly, it wasn’t until we met that the real magic began. What really clicked between us was our mutual passion for social media and marketing. We instantly understood each other on a deeper level when we started talking about creativity, branding, and the power of digital storytelling. Our relationship quickly became more than just personal—it was professional, too. Martin would come with me to photoshoots and meetings at the agency where I was working. Over time, he began to see how I approached marketing, and it sparked something in him.
That’s when we started to talk about joining forces. We saw how well our skills complemented each other, and how much we both believed in the idea of building something of our own. This year, we finally brought that vision to life and founded Roamer Agency.
Roamer is a combination of everything we’re passionate about: creativity, strategy, and yes—our love for each other. Every client that has come through our doors can attest to the heart and effort we put into what we do. For us, it’s not just about getting the job done—it’s about blending creativity with professionalism and strategy to truly elevate brands. That’s what makes Roamer unique, and it’s why we know we’re on the right path.
When we think about our journey, it feels like everything led us here. And now, we’re doing what we love, together. It’s been a labor of love, and we can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes us.

Laura & Martin , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We’re Martin and Laura, the founders of Roamer Agency, and our journey in the creative industry has been anything but traditional. We’ve always had a shared passion for creativity, content creation, strategy, and storytelling, but it wasn’t until we came together that we truly saw how our skills could align to help brands stand out in an increasingly competitive digital world.
Initially, Roamer Agency began as a social media marketing agency, focusing on content creation, social media management, website design, administration, and digital ads. We were driven by a simple idea: to help brands engage with their audiences in an authentic, creative way that truly resonated. But as we worked with more clients, we quickly realized that what they truly needed was a more comprehensive approach—a 360-degree strategy that addressed every aspect of their brand’s digital presence.
This insight led us to evolve Roamer Agency into a 360 marketing agency. Now, we offer a full spectrum of services, including branding, strategy development, content creation, digital advertising, website design and management, SEO, and more. This holistic approach gives our clients a more integrated and consistent brand experience across all touchpoints, which is essential in today’s fast-paced, multi-channel world. We know that a brand can’t thrive with just one piece of the puzzle; it needs a cohesive, well-rounded strategy to truly stand out—and that’s what we deliver.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Our story of how we met is one that feels like it was meant to be. We’re both Colombians, but Martin has been living in New Orleans for the past 16 years. One day, Martin was visiting his dad in Cali, Colombia—his hometown, where I was living at the time. Thanks to a mutual circle of people we both knew, we were introduced. From the very first moment we met, there was an instant connection.
What’s funny is that the very thing that brought us together was our love for what we do. We both had this entrepreneurial drive and a shared vision of using our skills to create something meaningful. As we spent more time together, it became clear that our talents complemented each other perfectly—Martin with his expertise in photography and videography, and me with my background in marketing and strategy.
Fast forward to today: we’re married and living our dream of running Roamer Agency together. The journey from that initial meeting in Cali to building a business together has been incredible. It’s amazing to think that the passion for what we do was what sparked our connection, and now it’s the foundation of both our relationship and our business.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of clients for us has definitely been referrals and upscaling businesses with our current clients. While upselling isn’t necessarily about bringing in new clients, it does bring in new income, which is just as valuable. We love seeing our current clients grow and succeed, and as their businesses expand, they often turn to us for additional services—whether it’s more complex marketing strategies, a bigger social media presence, or new digital campaigns.
To be honest, we prefer having fewer clients who pay us well rather than taking on a large number of clients who pay less. Don’t get me wrong—we absolutely love working with new clients, and we understand that not every business or entrepreneur can afford high rates, especially in the early stages. We’re happy to work with those clients, too, because we love helping businesses grow just as we’re growing.
However, client relationships are incredibly important to us, and we believe that by working with fewer clients, we can dedicate more time and attention to each one, which in turn leads to stronger, more successful partnerships. At the same time, it allows us to keep our business sustainable with a healthy income, rather than spreading ourselves too thin.
On a lighter note, in Colombia, there’s a saying—”En casa de herrero, cuchillo de palo”, which translates to “In the blacksmith’s house, the knife is made of wood.” It’s a humorous way of saying that when you’re so focused on doing something for your clients, you often forget to do it for yourself. And, honestly, that’s been a bit of our story. We’ve been so focused on delivering excellent work for our clients that we’ve put our own online presence on the back burner.
But in 2025, that’s something we’re determined to change. We know we need to be a true reflection of the work we do, so building a stronger online presence will be a priority for us moving forward. For now, we’re proud to let our clients be the living proof of what we do. They are the best reflection of our work, and their success is the ultimate testament to the value we bring to the table.
