Laura, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Laura Martin and I am the owner of Equine Social. Equine Social is a experience like no other, a place where you can have a private wine tasting paired with an amazing charcuterie board that is accompanied by horses.

This one of a kind experience takes place in our beautiful horse barn, where you will find Merle, Wyatt, Jinks and Tex all waiting for carrots!

2 yrs ago I became a mom and knew I wanted to stay home with her so I came up with a way to be a stay at home mom but also have my own business! That’s where the idea of Equine and Wine came to be. This gives people a place to feed horses and see them up close while they sample great wine and food. This is a very unique experience and I only hope it grows. I love sharing my passion with other people and seeing there faces when they walk in to this barn.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Originally I’m from California so about about 3 years ago I moved to Nashville and soon found out there are not near as many wineries here as California.

I soon found out there was going to be a little one on the way and knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom. So I thought what could I do to be mom and have my own business. Then one day while in the barn I thought “this would make a really beautiful tasting room” and since I figured Nashville could definitely use another tasting room Equine Social came to be.

Customers love the idea, the wine, the charcuterie and above all the stars of the show the HORSES! This gives people for one a private experience for date night etc a unique experience and they get to feed horses . It’s a girls dream over here!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I think I offer an extremely unique experience, I have never seen this done before or even offered. So I really think that helps.

Also, as far as the wine tasting goes, there isn’t a lot of wine tasting around this area, so this just adds one more place where they could do that

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

Of course, these days it’s social media but also with that a lot of my customers share my story, share the uniqueness of the business and where the mouth is just a wonderful thing.

I do not pay for any type of marketing, I just work hard with the resources I’m giving and my drive to make my business work.
