We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Laura Lauraityte. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Laura below.
Laura, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
I never envision myself as massage therapist or bodyworker, but I believe that my own personal transformation of my body and relationship to it led my way into this field. My passion for healthy lifestyle, fitness, and nutrition started over 12 years ago. I soon understood through experience of shedding access body weight that there’s so much more involved than physicality. I started asking deeper question about myself that challenged my belief systems, habitual patters and social conditioning. After moving to USA in 2013 my journey “home” took a faster speed. I dove deep into yoga and spiritual practices, including energy healing, shamanism, Kundalini Yoga, transcendental meditations and many more. Soon I was certified yoga teacher and finished my 108 hour Thai Massage training. After getting my massage license “EmbodyTouch” was born. I open my practice at Awekening Into Wellness Center downtown St. Petersburg. To be transparent there was a lot of learning in the begging I didn’t know were to start and what kind of questions to ask but I kept on collecting pieces of information and advice from my surroundings. As I stepped into entrepreneurship, became a business owner and my own boss I realize how much I enjoyed that. I joined BNA marketing group with another 60+ business owners and professionals. I learned so much from that experience, from pitching about my offers to how to make the best financial decisions. I did give all of myself to support my clients and keep up with responsibilities as a business owner but my devotion to my mission allowed me to take a step up in my carrier. I got an offer and contract as a private bodyworker for NFL pro-athlete. To be in services on this scale in the big world truly showed me that I’m living my purpose and it is constantly inspires me to keep growing, building and co-creating. My advice for young professionals first and foremost would be take care of yourself, choose You before anything and after that follow your hearts calling, find what inspires you and then figure out how to make money doing that. Expose yourself to people that you can learn from, ask for help and support. Don’t forget there’s resources all around you just keep on asking questions and stay devoted to your mission.
Laura, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My devotion to yoga and my personal practice led me into healing arts. My fascination for the body, mind and heart connection keeps on inspiring me to grow as professional. I approach my work with a lot reverence and respect. My intuitive nature allows me to lead my clients through various methods of healing. Starting with regular massage therapy, assisted sports stretch and Thai massage to energy healing, emotional clearing and spiritual guidance. One of my goals is to create safe spaces, physically, emotionally and mentally so my clients can fully step into sense of receptivity, deep rejuvenation and trust. My passion for fitness and the experience that I went through on my own journey led me into working with NFL pro-athletes. I’m greatly inspired to provide this kind of support for people in sports for faster recovery and increased performance in reach their highest potential.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My devotion to my own growth as individual and as practitioner of healing arts allows me to show up for my clients the way I do. I always say; – “People don’t remember what you say but they remember how you make them feel”. That’s what I live by.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
I’m very grateful for the work that I get to do. I know that I didn’t choose Thai, Thai choose me. So I wouldn’t change anything. I’m actually expanding my knowledge and are going to Thailand this spring for 3 month long Masters Training in Thai Massage.
