Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Laura Brady. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Laura, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
It’s truly a testimony of God’s goodness—beauty from ashes.
When I first began painting with acrylics in 2018, I had a vision of a lavender field. So… I painted it. At the time, the idea of planting a real lavender field felt overwhelming, yet deep in my heart I knew that one day I would see that vision come to life.
A few years later, my sweet mom became ill with melanoma. We had always shared a love for gardening and growing beautiful blooms, and I wanted to give her something that would lift her spirits during such a hard season. So I hand-tossed nearly an acre of zinnia seeds along the field that lines our long driveway. That way, my dad could drive her down the lane to see the flowers—even when she was too weak to leave the car.
The very first flower bloomed on July 20, 2020—the same day my mother passed into heaven. While she didn’t see it here on earth, I believe with all my heart that bloom represented her—radiant, healthy, and whole in heaven.
Since then, we’ve planted the lavender field, and each year we add new rows of “cut flowers,” zinnias included, in her honor. She is the reason I share this love of flowers with others. I inherited that passion from her.
Some of my most cherished memories are of us gardening together when I was a child. I still have one of her rose bushes that she planted when I was thirteen. She was also the first person to ever ask me to draw flowers—I’ll never forget the joy it brought her. Now, every brushstroke on my canvas is part of her legacy—an extension of the love we shared. My hope is that my work brings others even a fraction of the joy it once brought her.
Each year since, I’ve created a new collection inspired by our flower field. Last year’s series, The Secret Garden, featured six large paintings of flowers I grew alongside the birds of the field. This year’s Hello Beautiful collection highlights specialty-bred zinnias—an assortment of soft pastels and bright, joyful colors. The upcoming collection, Consider the Wildflowers, will feature scenes from within the flower field itself.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
After spending 15 years in graphic marketing, I felt the Lord calling me back to my creative roots. In 2015, I opened an online shop called Inspire, featuring my Scripture-based colored pencil illustrations. During that season, the Lord laid a foundation of His Word in my heart—and then He asked me to paint. He wanted me to release the beauty of His creation into the world and allow the Holy Spirit to minister through the flowers.
I never considered myself a painter, but I’ve learned not to tell God you’re not what He says you are! In 2018, I began painting with acrylics, and my very first piece was a vision of a lavender field—a vision that later came to life when I planted my own in 2021. Since then, I’ve cultivated a full flower field that continues to inspire my art and has brought deep healing, especially following the passing of my mother in 2020. The Lord is so multifaceted—He never moves us for just one purpose. In that field, He continues to reveal His beauty daily and has used it to bring healing to my heart and joy to those who collect my work.
As a floral fine artist, I create large-scale painting collections inspired by the flowers I grow myself. I also offer garden commissions, where I paint clients’ treasured blooms, and bridal bouquet portraits, a fine art form of bouquet “preservation” that captures the beauty and sentiment of a wedding day on canvas.
In my Allentown, PA gallery, LAURA BRADY GAllERY, visitors can explore my original paintings, canvas prints, framed and matted pieces, journals, candles, ornaments, and boxed notecards—all of which are also available through my website.
What sets my work apart is that each piece begins long before I ever pick up a brush. I grow and study each flower—its color, form, and light—so that when I paint, I’m not just recreating its likeness, but capturing the spirit of God’s creation within it. My greatest joy is seeing how the Lord uses my art to minister to others—to bring beauty, peace, and healing through the simple wonder of flowers.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes—my creative journey is deeply rooted in faith and a desire to share God’s beauty and goodness with others.
From the very beginning, the Lord laid a foundation of His Word in my heart and called me to paint, to release the beauty of His creation into the world and allow the Holy Spirit to minister through the flowers. Every brushstroke is an opportunity to capture the wonder, color, and life that God has woven into each bloom.
My mission is twofold: first, to create art that uplifts, inspires, and brings joy to those who experience it; and second, to honor and preserve the stories and memories that make life meaningful—whether through bridal bouquet portraits, garden commissions, or floral collections inspired by my own fields. I want my work to serve as a tangible reminder of God’s faithfulness, the beauty of creation, and the hope and healing He offers.
Ultimately, my goal is to create art that touches hearts, comforts souls, and brings a sense of peace and wonder—art that reflects both the splendor of God’s world and His love made visible through the flowers.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson I had to unlearn as an artist was looking to people to find my artistic voice. While we all learn from teachers and mentors, I’ve discovered is this not the source that will feed my artistic voice. My identity as an artist is found only in seeking the Holy Spirit as I create. The more I invite Him to co-create with me, the more my unique voice unfolds.
One of my deepest desires is for other artists to understand who they are in the Kingdom of God. Each artist is gifted with a unique perspective—a lens of God & the world around us. That perspective is needed. The world is waiting for this voice and vision through art. There is a unique piece of God that only each of us, as a creative, can release, and when an artist embraces that, their unique artistic voice is found.
