Oh, honey, where do I start? The journey’s been wild, full of twists, turns, and a whole lot of steam (literally). Now, I’ve read the stats and stories about the inequality Black women face in hospitals, especially during childbirth. The numbers are more than just concerning; they’re downright scary. But it’s one thing to read about it and a whole other to watch it unfold right before your eyes. Enter my sister’s experience, which was the wake-up call I never asked for but deeply needed.

My sis, bless her heart, was in this hospital, telling any nurse who’d half-listen about the pain she was in. And what did they do? Pretty much nothing. So, who stepped in? Me and my mama. That’s right. We ended up delivering my niece right there in the hospital room because we did what had to be done. You’d think that was the climax of the story, but nope. I get home, barely had time to kick off my shoes, and bam! I got a call saying my sister had to be rushed into emergency surgery. I was beyond devastated.

That moment right there, that was my defining moment. It hit me like a ton of bricks – my mission needed to evolve. I decided not only to focus on Yoni Steaming but to also dive deep into educating our women. I’m talking about making sure mothers and future mothers understand their bodies like the back of their hands.
