Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Latroyia Gallatin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Latroyia, thanks for joining us today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?
My background prior to Real Estate was Retail. I started at Forever 21 as a sale associate in 2010 and climbed the ladder to management. In 2015 I wanted to challenge my career and create a more streamlined customer base. I applied to multiple luxury brands and landed at Lacoste as an ASM. After a few years I got the opportunity to become a Store Manager. I had the chance to build my store from the bones. It was mine, never touched by any previous manager. That was a indescribable feeling.
Being in Luxury Retail Management has shaped who I am as a Black Business women. I experienced all types of clientele throughout my years and it made me well-rounded and able to adapt to all environments. A lot of what I learned I was able to transfer to my Real Estate Career. In this business you have to be relatable, respectful, understanding and professional. Building those relationships, assisting customers with all aspects of their fashion life. Graduation, children’s religious ceremonies, birthdays, anniversaries and so much more. Running someone else’s business everyday gave me the confidence that I could run my own.

Latroyia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m 30 years old, from East Baltimore City, I have a amazing family. My fiancée Daryl, I have 2 daughters Maci (10) Maya (6). My daughter Maya has Autism so I spend a lot of my time ensuring she has all of the support she needs while still learning about Autism everyday. I’m her biggest advocate and its my goal to be able to help other Autism families in my community. My family is the makeup of who I am. There’s nothing more important than family!
I always had a interest in Real Estate. I wanted to attend Real Estate school instead of college but my dad wasn’t thrilled with that idea. I purchased my first home at 22 and throughout the entire process I thought to myself “I can do this”. My fiancee has always told me he knew I could do it. Fast forward I took the class during COVID and here we are.
I represent buyers, sellers and investors. First Time Homebuyers hold a special place in my heart. I remember what it felt like purchasing my first home at 22 and I want everyone to have that same experience.
Problems I solve for my customers are endless. Sometimes I have clients who are nervous and scared of the Homebuying process. Getting them prepared and building their confidence will never get old to me. If clients are looking for a certain referral I make sure I refer reputable business owners to fit their needs. Sometimes its not always about solving their problems but being there as a support system for them. Knowing they have someone they can call whether its business or personal.
What sets me apart from other agents is all clients are my priority, no client is more important than the next. Every client is different and will have their own personalized experience with me. My clients are my family, its not just business . When you see me, look at my social media, meet me that’s what your going to get. I’m very transparent with my clients regarding their real estate goals. I’m not going to tell you what you want to hear just because it makes you feel good. I’m going to provide you with the facts, data, research and give my personal suggestion based on what will benefit you and your family most.
I’m most proud of my ability to be everything my family and clients need. That may consist of a mom, therapist, chef, secretary, maid, Realtor, nurse, a friend and so much more.
Know that when your working with me I’m going to have your best interest always. Know that if there’s a challenge we’re going to solve it together. Know that I’m always here to help!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What has built my reputation within my market is my clients personal experiences when working with me. Every clients experience is different and every real estate market calls for a different approach. Its imperative to have a knowledgeable and skilled realtor to represent you. I ensure my due diligence is met with every client. Word travels far in the Real estate industry. All of my clients can attest that when working with me their best interests and needs are my priority. From our initial consultation to the settlement table my clients can expect to have a personalized experience. My clients also know that this relationship doesn’t end at the settlement table. We’re connected for life!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I decided to become a Real Estate Agent I was dual career. My full time job was as a Store Manager at a luxury retail store. It was always a long term goal to become a full-time agent however, I didn’t feel that the timing was right. Fast forward, I was moved to a different retail location which I thought was the right decision and a few months later I received news that the store was closing due to the aftermath of COVID.
Receiving that news was very difficult as I had been at the new location for only a few months. At that moment I immediately started looking for job opportunities. I was in panic mode because this wasn’t in the plans. I applied for 15 different positions in one day alone. On my last day I packed up my last box and there was something inside that actually felt happy. After multiple considerations and discussions with my family I decided that this was the time for me to become a full-time agent.
At a time where everything felt like it was crumbling I was being prepared for something bigger and better.
