Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Latrise Hunter. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Latrise, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

As a child growing up, I only imagined the opportunity to be able to travel and see the world. With many things hindering that, I always thought that traveling was an unrealistic and unattainable goal. As I begin to learn more about what it would take to actually do that, I realized that it was easier than I thought. My first flight was from Charlotte, NC to Atlanta, GA for a job interview. Although the flight wasn’t something that I planned myself, I knew it was something that I knew I needed to do. From there, it allowed me the opportunity to get over my fear of flying. I then decided to take a cruise, even though I was super afraid of being on all that water. It was the best experience at that point that I had ever had. Then I started traveling internationally to all inclusive resorts and it was truly unbelievable. After that, I knew I wanted to have my family members to get this experience these types of vacations and began planning group trips for them. This journey turned into a hobby which later became a part time job, and now a full time career.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I have been in the travel industry since 2008 and continue to build a strong and diverse client base. In 2016, I established LH Fun Travel, LLC. My travel planning experience began by booking vacation packages for family and friends, and since then has grown significantly on a referral basis. As my experience and knowledge in the travel industry began to grow, I saw a want and need to help others that would be great at doing the same thing. With continuous training and personal assistance, I have a team of agents who also help to create experiences that clients will remember for a lifetime. We are excited to serve as a preferred travel agency to people all over the country.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

With any business there are challenges and those challenges allow you to better yourself and your business. Of course, COVID has been the true test and although we did take a hit initially, fortunately, we have been able to still assist those who are willing and ready to travel. It definitely requires a lot of training and keeping updated with the ever-changing world, but that’s what we are here for. By having first-hand knowledge of entry protocols and requirements for different countries, we are able to make our clients feel comfortable and safe to travel again as they did before the pandemic. Rather than having clients cancel reservations even today, I try to provide other opportunities for them to reschedule or change their trip to a later date or destination that may be better for them.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

My best source of new clients are referrals. Most of my business comes from past or current clients being happy with their experiences and telling their family and friends about me. Although I do use social media as well, those platforms allows me the opportunity to engage with everyone. Even there, I receive a lot of tags from people asking for a travel agent.
