Latrice, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?

My first client was actually the 9-5 I left. When I decided to leave, my boss cried. They recognized my value and made the decision to come with me and sign as my first client. Being a contractor I was able to set my own pay rate which was higher than if I were a full time employee. This higher rate influenced my boss’ decision of how much work to contract me for. Ultimately, this gave me the freedom I wanted: to work a lower volume for a higher rate.

Latrice, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hi I’m Latrice, owner of Trinity Business Solutions. My team helps business owners streamline how they work and earn in their business by helping them leverage technology to implement systems and automation.

All of my life I’ve been very driven and ambitious. I never waited for an opportunity. I always created my own with God’s help. Things were no different when I found myself overwhelmed, burned-out, and unfulfilled. I was the mother of a newborn baby and a two-year old. I was overworked, underpaid, and very unappreciated. I was working at a job that I no longer enjoyed, and wasting too much time on the road commuting to work. I already owned one business with my husband while also volunteering in other capacities in my community and at my church. It seemed like there was never enough time in a day!

After being miserable for long enough, I sat down with my husband, and together we came up with a plan as to how I’d be able to leave my full-time job, become a work-from-home mom and start building wealth for our family. I decided to get started as a Virtual Assistant.

I did tons of research on work-from-home jobs and I kept seeing Virtual Assistant come up time and time again. I decided to dig deeper into it. Turns out, I had the experience and skillset for it already. After presenting this opportunity to my husband, we decided to move forward.

Next, I saved three-months of my income from my job and turned in my notice. You see, God is waiting for us to REALLY trust him and take a leap of faith. After doing this, my full-time job actually became my first client! From that point on I began learning, networking, and working day and night around the clock to build a sustainable business (while also having two little ones at home).

Over the years, that small business evolved into what is now, Trinity Business Solutions. My team and I have been able to help hundreds of online business owners completely transform their back-end business systems and implement automation to scale their businesses without increasing the amount of time they work in their business.

I’ve now had the freedom to spend the time I want with my family, make what I want to make, be in control of my schedule, and transform the lives of other business owners and their families.

God has really blessed me and I’m amazed each day when I look at my life. I am now able to help others build their businesses and obtain wealth for their families through my courses, programs, and speaking.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Referrals, referrals, referrals! I created a world-class experience for my clients that caused them to rave about me to their business owner friends. I also created a referral program. This created a referral machine where new clients come to me all the time, consistently.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Although my business is online and I do business with companies all over the world, I actually got out and built a ton of relationships and networked with local brick & mortar businesses. That is how I got my first contracts, built realtionships, and got connected with other major people that propelled my business forward.
