We caught up with the brilliant and insightful LaTrenda George a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, LaTrenda thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career
I believe our educational system has a great foundation. However, there are practices we can implement to make it exceptional. For starters, I would incorporate programs that are designed to teach students how to emotionally exhale and logically process their emotions. The implementation of these programs would improve the mental well-being of students, their educational environments, and their communities. Students would then be encouraged to examine their truth and learn forward-thinking principles. Next, I would encourage those responsible for our education system to acknowledge and embrace that the students need to emotionally exhale at the start of their day. That is necessary because many students are bombarded with external factors that cloud their ability to focus and process new information.
Additionally, the change would include more programming where we listen to our students to effectively connect through healthy conservations. I believe students want to be heard and not judged.
Lastly, I would incorporate a positive minds program that would include mandatory classes or sessions taught by mental health professionals or professional life coaches. The positive minds program would focus on the student’s mental health by teaching them principles of self-love, self-awareness, and self-care.
How can we prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career?
We can assist students in identifying what they don’t want so they can focus on pathways and options to what they do want; thereby, creating a way for them to live their most fulfilling life. We can also encourage our students to understand that change is always constant, and learning is a lifelong journey. In addition, we can prepare students by teaching them effective decision-making skills, money management principles, communication, networking, and relationship-building skills. Further, we can help our students to understand that their career choice is their act of service to humanity and it’s only a fraction of a fulfilling life. The most important skill is to prepare our students to show up for themselves.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I help individuals to determine what is the truth, fear, or pure outdated conditioning. listen to their concerns and we peel them back to the core, and create positive action plans and thought patterns that lead to a more fulfilling life. My clients can get un-programmed by exposing themselves to different mindsets, reading new material and trying new experiences. Most important, take the time to know yourself.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the belief that women were to be seen and not heard. There was a time when I had a desire to please others at the expense of my truth and I would play small to create harmony. For instance, I can recall sitting in a business meeting and not offering any suggestions to increase the staff productivity because I knew some of the other leaders would try to minimize ideas and talk over me. And this one time, the vice president called me after the meeting and asked me did I have anything to offer to the earlier discussion. Feeling more comfortable speaking to her, I shared my ideas, and she asked why I didn’t say that in the meeting. She went on to say that I was right on target. Then she recommended a few books to help build my confidence and enrolled me in some life changing courses. As I look back, this was pivotal to me living an authentic lifestyle. It taught me as I honor myself, I allow others to be honored. It also taught me that it is perfectly normal to have people who value your opinion and existence and others who will not acknowledge you. I had to value myself beyond the eyes of others.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I believe you social media content should reflect your vibe. I built my social media by providing daily inspiration to others which included content on lessons I personally learned or inspired to learn. I focused on giving others the raw me. As a result, I attracted a tribe that connects with my messaging. My advice to other’s starting on social media is give the world your raw authentic energy. Most of your audience will connect with your brand. They will share your content and invite others to join your platform. Authenticity and consistency are some of the key factors to having and maintaining a vibrant social media presence.
