Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to LaTrecia Chambry. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
LaTrecia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
Kindness is what’s keeping me going these days. The world is cruel and just because you give good doesn’t mean you get it back. I have two people who have shown me kindness this year in ways never done for me before. One of my favorite humans had a dress made for me by famed dress designer Maria Harper. Another great human uplifts and encourages me. She shared her wisdom and experience with me. when I was going through the lows of life and entrepreneurship. She believed in me when I didn’t believe in me. She felt my joy and passion for helping people love themselves and wouldn’t let me quit.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I grew up in Michigan and moved to Atlanta after one year at Eastern Michigan University. My Mother moved to Atlanta and I followed. My entrepreneurial endeavors started immediately I had a laundry service pick-up and delivery as well as a lawn care service. They were short lived I continued to work corporate jobs and then decided on Esthetician school. I suffered with acne as a teen and wanted to learn about it. Once I started school (still working full-time) I knew I found my passion. I graduated in 2002 from ISSN in Atlanta. I went on to work for Spa Sydell gaining more education and skills. Through the years I continued to work corporate and skin care part-time never leaving my passion behind. I also finished my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration management. 2018 I landed a full-time medical Aesthetician role and I was thrilled the training was great! I worked with an amazing Doctor and became interested in laser. 2019 I obtained my cosmetic laser license and went on to work with some of the best Dermatologists and plastic surgeons in the Atlanta area. Always having that entrepreneurial spirit and being a single Mom of two the schedule and demands of a busy dermatologist office was taking it’s toll on me mentally and physically. I just couldn’t find the right fit where my hard work was appreciated and compensated in an environment I could feel comfortable in, in order to provide the services I would be proud of doing for patients. I went solo and Queenies Beauty was born. Results focused medical grade skincare products and services. Your skin deserves Royalty. Services are tailored to your specific skincare needs and condition. Queenies product line currently consists of the four most effective and important products for at home skincare routine. Royal cleanse, glow serum, night crown and Royal screen. Hyperpigmentation/dark spots/sun damage, acne, acne scars, wrinkles and fine lines, dehydration, dullness and inflammation I can help you. I want you to feel good about yourself, your face and skin. It’s the first thing people see and judge you. I want you to be confident without makeup. I know first hand what it’s like. I was still suffering from acne after becoming a licensed esthetician. I had high anxiety and depression and did not want to practice skincare. I would think, how can I treat people with my skin looking this way. It was the worst I had ever experienced. I know now that it was all a part of my Journey. I have that first hand experience to connect with my clients and to provide you what you need to get the skin you desire and deserve.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Being that I am solo no grants, no investors, no marketing firm. Pivoting is all I do. I have moved locations, had to stop offering services that brought in the majority of clients and income due to the move. I have to be flexible but consistent as a business owner you have to have faith not fear.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
The way I treat people, your energy and character. This field is personal care, clients must feel comfortable and know that they can trust you. You are touching and treating the face and body. I always think of my client’s experience. Kindness and compassion is what I give to my clients. The license and certifications let them know I’m skilled in the industry but it doesn’t show my character. I do what I would want done for me. Treat people how you want to be treated.
