LaToya, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?

I manage my own social media. I chose this route because it was something I was not only interested in but good at. The thing about social media is you don’t have to have a lot of followers to make money as long as you are reaching your target audience.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am a serial entrepreneur who always knew I would own my own business even as a kid. I love fashion and wanted to design clothes but God had other plans for me. I am still in the fashion industry I just design earrings instead. I get so much joy in creating pieces for my customers. I feel like the perfect pair of earrings will bring your outfit together.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

When I first started my business I sold workout clothes. I am not afraid to try something to find my niche. Everything was going great but it was not my passion so I pivoted into something different. I quickly realized that I enjoyed making things and being crafty so I taught myself how to make earrings.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

Funding my business was easy to get started I didn’t need a lot of money up front just enough to buy the things I needed to make the earrings. I worked my 9-5 so that I could invest in my brand.
