La’Toya, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
My Professional career for the past two decades have been an Insurance Agent. I have been working at a few different agencies but one particular location gave me the revelation of my purpose. I went from seeing how helping others protect their assets also helped me see how I could also be of service to others in other positive ways. On a daily basis I would encounter different situations with different people that was struggling to make a better life for themselves. People from different cultures and backgrounds were struggling and they needed to know that they mattered. I was able to show different ones they mattered by acknowledging their presence and helping with their needs. There were people without food to eat, a place to stay and medical assistance. They lacked guidance, someone that showed interest in them, and inspiration. There was one particular young lady that was homeless that I became quite fond of. Eventhough I couldn’t help her the way I desired professionally in the insurance industry, personally I made the decision to help her daily by encouragement and offering to help her in different ways find resources to better her circumstances with her living conditions and medically. I learned that one of the biggest things she needed was to feel like someone cared and that she mattered to society. With help she got her a place to live and medical attention she needed. She voiced her appreciation of my encouragement, guidance and caring ways. She later passed away due to a medical condition that wasn’t treated early enough. It was heartbreaking but yet I still also felt a sense of peace that she had gotten a chance to live a better life and share with me her future goals before her passing. After that time I realized that serving her and others gave me a reason of why I existed and a sense of Purpose. I then realized that I wanted to help encourage, uplift and guide people in a better direction more often. There are so many various variables that get people stuck in life and if only they had temporary help, it would give them long term success in their lives. That’s when I decided to become a Life Coach. Serving others helps me realize my existence and then led me to my Purpose!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I became a Life Coach because serving others showed me my gifts and purpose of being able to guide, encourage and inspire others. No matter what your situation is where there is a will to do better, and know better, you can be in a much better situation. My desire is not just to be a Coach that just coach clients knowledge through education but my desire is to be relatable to their current daily situations that they struggle with. People need to know how to just be able to survive and overcome the “moments” in their lives when they feel defeated, overwhelmed or clueless.
I coach individuals , youth, and relationships. I also coach in the area of spirituality. I believe anytime you are trying to move forward in life you first have to tap into who YOU ARE! You have to learn to know who you are, embrace who you are, love who you are so you can fully evolve into who you are and desire to be! YOU are the foundation and core of everything you are trying to be and build up in life. If you are not in a healthy stable state everything you try to add to your life will be unstable. I am proud of helping my clients tap into who they are authentically . I coach my clients that who they are is without limitations. I am the unbiased Coach that sees your potential, listens to your goals and desires and helps you figure out the best way for you to accomplish them. You are no longer alone, it’s a “ We” journey that you get out what you put into it. Once you are encouraged in who you are, you can be inspired by who you are!

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
What is most helpful in succeeding in my business is being able to easily connect with my clients in a positive way and be relatable.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Yes I would have chosen my profession over and over again because I’m confident that I am being used to serve my Purpose.
