Latoya , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?

I went to home depot picking up something for at the time my first floor. I spoke to the lady at the counter about what I need essential it turned into my first two children.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am a Latoya Brown-Clayton jack-of-all-trades when it comes to caring for children and young people. With over a decade of experience in the field, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles, including Assistant to the Director, Direct Care Staff, and Youth Counselor.

Throughout my career, I have gained a wealth of skills and knowledge that have allowed me to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people of all ages. I have a talent for designing age-appropriate activities that build social skills and foster learning, and I am passionate about promoting community awareness through educational field trips.

But my expertise doesn’t stop there, I am also an expert in connecting individuals with others through participation in community events and educating them on managing their finances and forming productive daily routines. I have also gained a wealth of experience providing group counseling and one-on-one care for teenagers dealing with abuse and neglect issues.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?

In 2022, I discovered the true power of building a brand when people began asking me how I market my daycare or myself. This revelation made me realize that I’ve always had a deep desire to create a sense of belonging and unconditional love in every place and for everyone, but I could only truly achieve that with of my daycare and with the parents I serve. When a child enters my daycare, they become like my own child, and I am wholeheartedly dedicated to ensuring the best for both the child and their family. It is my mission to guide parents on a path towards success, enabling a brighter future for their family. This path I connect them with financial security, better job opportunities, and even access to higher education, all of which contribute to the happiness and mental well-being of the parents.

Have you ever had to pivot?

Now!!!!! A new chapter in my journey is beginning. I have decided to take a bold step forward by opening a childcare center. This endeavor not only allows me to expand my reach and impact but also gives me the opportunity to surround myself with like-minded staff members who share the same passion for children’s well-being and development. Its scary to think I am looking at opening a center for 100 plus children especially having a safe space for children with disabilities. Making sure that staff, parents and children have access to an qualify childcare this excites me. To create change in neighborhoods that needs my services.
