We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Latosha Jones. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Latosha below.
Latosha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
First of, I would like to say thank you for this opportunity. I am forever grateful.
I pray to leave a legacy my children can be proud of, look back at the pictures/videos, and people tell them stories of my events, collaborations, and they were lucky to have such an resilient Mother that did her best. I hope I am remembered for how I really took something I loved and built something amazing for not just my company but also with collaborations.
Energy Powered Productions LLC’s success is not ever just about me. I want to build with like-minded people as I have done so in just a short amount of time. Working with Non-Profits like Tiny Hearts Remembered based in Toledo facilitating the Sip&Paint portion of an fundraising event was such a blessing during October for Pregnancy and Infant Loss was such an empowering experience. Also working with Target for a Perfume Swap as they gifted 30 gift bags for attendees was a dream come true, and collaborating with Columbus locals, entrepreneurs, bars, spas, and restaurants have been eye-opening.
I want my legacy to not just be about when I was a kid and moving a lot, going to multiple schools, and still being able to be positive and use my experiences to help people and smile through the past.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Latosha Jones, Owner of Energy Powered Productions LLC and most recently Energy Powered Podcast. After my Mother passed away at 38 years old from a brain tumor, I tried to keep the family dynamic together so I started hosting holidays at my house and inviting all of my siblings, family, and closest friends. We had such a good time and I know my Mother would have loved to be in the space with her Grandchildren that she didn’t get to meet. I then started finding activities for myself and others to do because I understand that life will pass you up and we have to explore, network, and come together in order to have a more fulfilling life.
From lavish personal picnics, in-home Sip & Paint experiences, kids Sip & Paint parties, resin crafts, personal shopping, specially curated baskets for loved ones, and planning surprise experiences, I DO IT ALL!
I eventually decided to start collecting money to put events together for my family and friends and ultimately decided to start a brand, file my LLC, and start curating events for the public. What sets me apart from some others is that I do not do these to make big profits but I genuinely love seeing people smiling, laughing, and having a good time. I also incorporate vendors at my events to showcase small business owners, non-profits, up and coming entrepreneurs, and role models in the community. This is never just about me.
I am most proud of having a successful 2024. I had many kinds of events all year long and ended 2024 with a Community Event with over 20 vendors, free haircuts for kids, a craft room with face painting, food, a band, a DJ, a 360 Photobooth, health and wellness vendors, free toys that were donated, free clothes that were donated, and I collected donations for a family of 6 children who lost their Mother right as the holidays were approaching.
This was extremely special and important to me because a lot of the kinds of events I had were ones that saved me and my family’s lives as we were growing up. Staying in shelters, needing food banks/donated food, needing to be adopted by local families that were financially capable and willing to help. As the oldest child I saw what the community is capable of and the best part was that my 2 children got to see exactly what their Mom does and help out! It really warmed my heart.

Have you ever had to pivot?
A time when I had to pivot in my life was just recently. 2024 was very hard for a lot of reasons and I had finally decided to start nursing school. I took the entrance exam, passed, did onboarding, and changed my fulltime work schedule to part time to concentrate on school so that I could make more money for my family and use the new income to help take my business to the next level.
On the way back from Toledo after the Community Event, I changed my mind. Financially, it isn’t the right time and I have so much on my plate that I decided to continue to work full-time as a Registered Medical Assistant and invest more time in my business. While nursing is on my list of things to accomplish, Energy Powered Productions LLC is MINE. As much time and effort I put into it, is what I’m going to get out of it.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I remember my first Sip & Paint was in Toledo at the beginning of 2024 and I knew that I needed work done on my truck but I had already sold out, had everything in order, and was excited to get to work on my first event. On the way from Columbus, the truck got a flat and we sat on the side of the road for 4-5 hours awaiting roadside assistance. That day was suppose to be all about me setting up, making sure I had all of my supplies ready for Saturday, and putting last minute things together for my vendors. I have learned that there is no point in stressing out about things we cant change so I decided to do cartwheels on the side of the road. Was it a good and smart thing to do at night as a 40 year old woman? Probably not! YOLO! Thats the mindset.
