We were lucky to catch up with LaTasha Kaiser recently and have shared our conversation below.
LaTasha, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Our Vision: To bring Kravegan’s plant based food and soulful culture to every person in the world.

To promote a healthier lifestyle by providing flavorful plant-based, economically sustainable food.

At Kravegan, “Where food is love,” we provide vegan, plant-based foods with flair, made from scratch. Our food is boldly flavorful and served with love. We VALUE each customer, as we value the environment. People make a choice when they eat with us and we want to ALWAYS make sure that we are making every effort to aim high and provide a 5-star experience with each interaction. We serve great vegan food with excellence and love. Kravegan was built to offer healthy alternatives with flair – we want to make sure each experience is top notch!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Our story:
LaTasha Kaiser ~ CEO & Founder of Kravegan…winner of the #1 JAX BEST Vegan Restaurant 2021 & 2022, additionally 2022 winner Best of Orange Park Awards in the category of Restaurant Orange Park. A Jacksonville native, her love for eating healthy and cooking was inspired by her parents; her father taught her mother how to cook from scratch and they both taught LaTasha ~ but also reminding her to never be afraid of combining cuisines (culinary fusion!!!!)
After attending a women’s conference in Atlanta early 2018, LaTasha thought she might open a catering company ~ and that was when Kravegan was born. She and her husband Lew Kaiser (CFO) officially launched their food truck in July 2019. On Jan. 18, 2021, she opened her restaurant in the Orange Park Mall food court with 100% of the menu scratch made vegan plant-based food, desserts and sauces created with her own recipes (except for breads, pasta and French fries)..Kravegan has become a delicious destination for her customers who want food that is void of preservatives, chemicals and MSG.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Business ownership is not an easy task, and as a first generation entrepreneur I’ve made my share of mistakes. When one has discovered their purpose in filling a need that helps people, those mistakes become lessons on how to improve and strengthen your business organization. At the point when you realize your business has become successful enough to really fill a void for people, yet your business still needs capital and infrastructure support…Failure is not an option, Lean times may mean removing personal luxuries, extra-curricular activities, etc to continue pushing your brand forward. These are the times when accessing Small Business support from local Small Business programs, Mentors and other colleague relationships are paramount for advice, direction, and encouragement.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
In March 2020 a local business was hosting an event featuring Tabitha Brown, and as I was awaiting a meeting to collaborate my vegan food with that local business – the event was cancelled due to COVID-19. Fast forward to October 2022, Tabitha Brown was on her cookbook “Cooking from the Spirit Tour” and my marketing team reached out to invite Tabitha Brown and her team to the restaurant. On Monday October 10, 2022, Tabitha’s assistant Hope replied and on Tuesday Oct 11, 2022, Kravegan catered Tabitha Brown and her team, which resulted in Tabitha Brown posting a video review on her Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube page. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UUDgvvnung
What appeared to be a lost opportunity in 2020, came full circle Oct 11, 2022. The review Tabitha Brown posted has resulted in new followers, customers and katering opportunities.
Stay the course, trust the process, and keep moving forward…failure is not an option.
