Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Latasha Davis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Latasha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
If I’m completely honest, starting Rest Mondays was a HUGE risk. I love to have a plan and I don’t like failure. And, as much as possible, I always plan to win. That all changed when I said ‘yes’ to God and decided to take a risk and start my ministry and my business. I had to learn to trust others to do what I couldn’t do, but most of all I had to learn to value on my worth and believe others would value it as well.
Also, navigating through all of the unknowns of running a business was a huge risk for a planner like me. I had to take a risk to step out on my own and trust that I had the ability to transform lives outside of the security of someone else’s ministry or business. When I started Reset Mondays it was for the purposes of encouraging, coachingand inspiring others that they could reset their lives no matter where they were in life. However, I quickly discovered that I was my first client. So, in March 2021, I finally took the risk and launched a platform that allowed me to connect, encourage, and inspire others to transform all aspects of their life just as I had to do. Resetting my own life has allowed me to use my skills
and experience to guide and teach others the skills they need to help reset their week to achieve optimal success in their mind, body, and spirit. But I had to do the work and take my own advice first!
My mantra is based on the notion that life is meant to be lived, and everyone could use a good “reset.” I chose “Monday” because typically everyone’s work week begins on Monday, so what better day of the week to start fresh and reset! I built this platform for anyone and everyone who wants to reset their life and move toward a deeper, more purposeful life.
I know this is just the beginning for me, and I am excited for the rest of the journey. I want the same for you. I hope you find your purpose, and I hope it brings you all the fulfillment you desire.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is Latasha E. Davis. I am a native of Southern Mississippi. As a businesswoman, author, pastor, speaker and philanthropist, my experience has equipped me with an abundance of wisdom that I am thrilled to share with others. I possess the ability to connect with others on a personal level from all walks of life. My desire is to help others by revolutionizing what it means to reset their life.
In March 2021, my passion to empower and touch the hearts of people prompted me to build a brand focused on the principle of humility that resulted in the launch ofReset Mondays, a motivational platform that allows me to connect, encourage, and inspire transformation in all aspects of life. Utilizing wisdom, knowledge, and my experience, I teach my audience the skills necessary to help reset their week to achieve optimal success in their mind, body, and spirit.
As a guiding principle I believe no matter the circumstance, if one remains humble in due season their harvest will come. Practicing humility is one of the key attributes to my success as a corporate trainer for over 10 years. Humility has fueled my educational journey; and as a result, I’ve earned a Bachelor of Science and a Masterof Science in Business Administration, a Masters in Practical Theology and Christian Education, and I am currently working toward my Doctorate of Christian Leadership (DEdMin).
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is consistency and demonstrating genuine concern for my clients’ success.
Being consistent is important because it shows your clients that you are willing to show up for them on a regular basis, which allows them to feel comfortable sharing their successes, struggles, triumphs, and fears. It requires reaching out to my clients on a regular basis. The fact is coaching
Another key strategy I practice is engagement. Engagement was a skill I had to practice and develop over time. In business, I quickly discovered that people don’tpay someone to simply tell them how to navigate their business, ministry, and life, they want to know that you care and that you are personally invested in them to the degree that you meet them where they are; meaning you engage clients in a manner that fits them best. I use a mixture of communication strategies de
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
When starting a new business getting clients can be difficult, especially if you don’t already have a client base. What I’ve found to work best for me is networking and collaboration.
As stated previously, nothing beats good old-fashioned word-of-mouth; however, that requires putting yourself out there and attending networking events relevant to your industry. I realize, for some, networking at live events can be challenging, but it’s the easiest and fastest wat to identify your ideal client. If you are new to networking or uncomfortable networking, think of it as not only a means to identify what services your ideal client requires, but also a way to sharpen your communication skills
My personal favorite way of acquiring new clients is collaboration. Collaborating with a business, friend, or colleague who has a similar client base is another strategy for acquiring more clients. Collaborating with bu
