Hi Lashawn, thanks for joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

I have always had an idea to have my own eyewear line. I researched for almost 4 years before I found a vendor and manufacturing company that would give me what I wanted and needed. Once I found out the vendor had the type of frames I liked and pricing was great there was tons of back and forth being that they were overseas. But of course that all comes with the process. Next thing I had to do was decide if I wanted to use my name or have different collections within the eyewear line. So before I could launch I had decided to go with my initials L.A.C which stands for La’Shawn Ashley Chandler. The line exemplified bold and being unapologetic. I wanted something that was not traditional. The line had to be funky, full of colors, and very BOLD. Like when you see someone wearing the L.A.C Collection from Frame Addikzs you will automatically know 1 or 2 things. 1. They were BOLD. 2. very creative designs with color. I knew not to many brands had that extra flare.

So just before I launched I did one more run threw with the manufacturer. So here it is April 2021. I released my first eyewear line after being in business for 5 years. The joy I had was astounding! Nothing could take my joy away! I mean nothing! It took a lot of prayer and just waiting on God to move to let me know what my next move was. The process was very exciting but very long but with God on my side all things work out for the better good. Not to mention my collection sold out within 3 months. God timing is always perfect!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I have been in the optical industry since 2010. In business for almost 6 years. I have always had a interest in the medical field but I knew I wanted the career choice to be something fun and clean. Optics gave me just that! The products we offer are fashion sunglasses and trendy eyewear for the bold unapologetic everyday women who loves to make a bold eyewear statement where ever she may be … a pool party, business meeting, or out on a romantic date!

The problem I found I solve for my clients is the traditional fashionable looks that most boutiques carry. Frame Addikzs has a more fun trendy and bold look and lots of color options.

I noticed one thing that sets me apart from others is the relationships I build. Most of my clientele I have received support from have a common goal in mind and we network and end up supporting each other and building each other up. I have a really great support system and I feel that makes a big difference when in business for yourself.

At this very moment in my business career I would have to say I am very proud that I was able to create my very first of many eyewear lines. That was definitely a dream come true! and the fact it sold out exceeds my expectations! God is definitely in control when it comes to Frame Addikzs,L.L.C

The main thing I would like new clients to know about me and my work is that everything I do is genuine. I have a big heart for helping the people in my circle and those that allow me to help them. I have always had a big personality and that’s what I want others to know is that being yourself is all that matters! Unleash the Boldness!

Have you ever had to pivot?

A time when I had to pivot in business would have to be when the pandemic hit. I knew that because many people were not traveling I would not be getting many sunglass orders. I would get eyeglass order here and there. But I didn’t get nearly as many orders like I would normally get. So I had to take the time to invest in myself and learn a new skill or hobby that would potential be a great asset to me and my current business. I learned to craft and customize different items for other business owners. I learned how to make t-shirts, cups. business cards, etc. In the long run although my current business was on hold. I saved my business a lot of money by learning how to make these things on my own. I will be launching my new business endeavor in the near future.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The best source of new clients for me has been social media and simply word of mouth. I noticed that once I invested into getting a business coach. My social media presence was more approachable and people started to take me serious. Going live on my social media platforms, engaging with the people helped tremendously. I was always told when you start to take your business serious others will too! So I bossed up and put in the work so others could notice me.
