La’Ryn, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

Once I decided that baking was what I wanted to do, I immediately started working toward it. I filed for my LLC and went through all the requirements needed to operate. I had zero experience with cake decorating so while I was waiting on all the legal fun stuff, I was practicing my skills every day. Once that was complete, I just started advertising my work as much as possible which eventually led to the client base I have now.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I am a home based baker located in Jacksonville Florida. I bake and decorate cakes and cupcakes from scratch for all events including birthdays, weddings, baby showers, and much more. I have always been a very creative individual and a lover of all things sweet so baking just came naturally to me. I find it to be very rewarding to take a clients idea and bring it to life! What sets me apart from others is the pure love I put into every order. Unlike a commercial bakery, your order with me is carefully thought out, planned, and executed with as much time needed to truly execute your vision. Each cake is tailored to your individual style.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I am somewhat of a perfectionist and I always put my all into each order I receive. In the beginning, I would get really bad anxiety if I never received any feedback from the client and just general anxiety overall about different aspects of the cake making process. I’ve learned to trust myself and provide the best quality work for each order I receive and I believe the growth of my business is a reflection of that

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

The majority of my clients find me via Instagram. The best advice I could give is to just be consistent. People will eventually find you and your community will grow. Word of mouth also helps a lot!
