We were lucky to catch up with Larry Street recently and have shared our conversation below.
Larry, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The power behind our mission is to bring Affordable plumbing to those In need. To those who really can’t take on extra expense like let’s say a water heater that just won’t stay hot any more or toilet that’s just not flushing like it use too. At Genesis Plumbing Repair, we understand and over care for our community and families.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
It all started when I was 8 years old, my grandfather would pick me up every summer to help keep his plumbing shop neat and organized. He noticed that I actually gained an interest and continued to ask questions like” if I put these two pieces together, what does this do or hey do you think I could re-build this toilet and give it to those in need?” As years went on and it was my 18th birthday he had given me a choice, to either have a job or. Career. I choose the career of course become this was something I could keep for a life time. Although I didn’t work with him for a long time, due to the age gap we always didn’t see eye to eye. I left his company for a couple years and worked my way up the corporate ladder and landed a plumbing super attendant position, even brought my cousin along to show Him the ropes. With the great responsibility it ment a lot of traveling and missing home, with a new born on the way I was ready to stay home and wouldn’t you know it I get a phone call from the old man asking me for help till he sells the business. Unfortunately I didn’t receive no benefits of the settlements, my head still stood strong as I was on my way to start a business of my own.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that we are not machines. Breaks must be take more often then one thinks. Enjoy the small things in life.

Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
Starting a business will forever be a leap of faith, tomorrow’s paycheck is never guaranteed…. That was my mentality for the longest, just when we thought business would be slow, boom next day we get two back to back whole house re-pipes. With the power of word of mouth
