Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Larry Mayes. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Larry thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

I Had band class in my 7th grade year I played the saxophone so I was always into some form of music. But rap came while cleaning my house as a kid every Saturday morning I blasted music all day until I would rap songs to myself and after awhile I just wanted to do it. It looked so cool on tv the cars the clothes the houses lol. It’s much different now though

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I got into music at the age of 25 I actually started off as a group called we count cash it’ was 5 of us all rappers. It’s taken many years of discipline to not have your feelings so much involved with it, because at the end of the day everything in the music industry is business. I am now working on my first solo EP “ ALL GAS NO BREAKS” which will have 6-8 bangers on there set to drop for next year. What sets me aside from others is I never give in or up, I’m always finding new ways to stay relevant to my fans and supporters. For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

Seeing that your music has actually moved someone. You have those certain songs to where it just hits home, and when a fan tells you that it’s just heart warming to know I’m reaching peoples hearts. Also while performing the attention they give you is so amazing when they love the song .

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

Yes of course. My BMI/ LLC I wish I had more knowledge about off it early on in life Instead of a few years ago. It’s better late than never right lol.
